This book is very helpful to let you know where you child should be developmentally on a monthly basis. i read this book monthly to make sure i was keeping up with the activities i should be working on with my little one. It was very helpful to know what babies can eat and what to pay attention to when your baby might be sick. This is a definite must have for first time moms or mommy's who have a new baby at home!

Great book! I read the "what to expect when you are expecting" book while pregnant and picked this one up after my little guy arrived.

This book is full of great information! I wish I had started reading it in the last month of pregnancy, as it has a lot of info that is very helpful to a new mommy AND I didn't have the energy to read in the first few weeks.

Good info on breastfeeding, child development, questions to ask the doctor, and a lot of other useful information. This book will not disappoint!

I'm about to become a foster mom to a 4 month old infant and this book is great for summarizing all the things that may happen, will happen, and you hope don't happen. I have been a pediatric nurse for 18 years and it is serving as an overall reminder to me. After all, being a mom is not the same as taking care of kids, and this book is making me feel up to the task.

Everyone tells you that babies don't come with a manual, but if they did, I would say this would be the book! I didn't pick it up at all before our son was born, but as soon as he started crying the first time, this book was cracked open and has pretty much stayed open since. It has so many helpful topics, including how to deal with colic, decoding your childs cry and breastfeeding information. It's got a big section in the back that helps you figure out if this or that is normal, or if its worth a trip to your doctor.
My favorite thing about this book has to be the honesty. I thought they would be selling a viewpoint, but they really aren't. They have great info on breastfeeding and formula, weither or not you need special baby soaps, etc with out the slanted point of view you get from some.
I'm not sure we would have lasted the first few weeks with out "The Instrucion book" as my husband calls it.

I used "What To Expect When You're Expecting" a lot when I was pregnant and can't wait to use this one through out my daughter's first year. I only gave it 4 stars because I haven't read the whole book yet but I'm sure it'll be a 5 star!!
