I just purchased this carseat today. I bought this seat to replace the Graco Safeseat 1, that a friend had given to me. I HATE the Safeseat. It was heavy, huge and when put inside a cart, it took up every ounce of space. I had to use 2 carts EVERYTIME I went shopping. Ridiculous if you ask me! The Snugride carseat hooked right on to the top of the cart and fit securely. Yes, I know that it's not safe to put the carseat on top of the cart...but my other 3 childern survived. I am never more than a few steps away from my cart anyway. This seat isn't as padded as the Safeseat, but my baby doesn't seem to mind. I think she's actually more comfortable because she doesn't seem to get as warm. My baby overheats easily. I originally went to BabiesRUs to purchase the Chicco KeyFit 30, but after "playing" with it, I realized it is almost as large as the Safeseat and weighs just as much. I know that my baby will outgrow this seat faster than the others, but I don't see the benefit of toting a 30lb baby around in a 10lb. infant seat anyway. If you are practical like I am, buy this carseat and save yourself a few bucks and the hassel of ridiculously large and heavy carseats.

I'm happy that I got this carseat verses the Graco snugride 32 ones. Carrying the carseat can get heavy with the baby in it, and this one is much lighter than the 32 car seats. Haven't had any problems with it.

I recently received this carseat for my 3rd daughter due in March. I had the Graco Snugride for my first two (that seat got too old to continue using) and loved everything about it, but especially the front-adjust. It may not seem like a very big deal, but without that feature you will always be struggling to get baby in and out. This way you just push a little button in front to loosen straps, or pull the pullstrap on the bottom to tighten. Imagine one day your baby can wear a thinner warm weather outfit, and the next day needs to bundle up in a sweater. Well, that 2nd day you will have to fool around with loosening the straps from the back to make them fit properly over baby's heavier clothing. Or, if baby is sleeping and you want to take her out with as little fanfare as possible, it is much easier to just quickly loosen the harness from the front and lift her out then trying to manuver her out from the still-snug harness! It might sound confusiung, but trust me, you need the front-adjust feature! The only thing that surprised me about this seat was the darker color really is brown, I imagined it to be more of a deep plum color. Works for me though because I wanted something that would hide dirt and spit-up, etc.

I purchased this Graco Snugride in Jewel as well as the Snugride 32 in Gianni to compare side by side and to see which one fit better in our cars. It was no contest. The Snugride in Jewel is made of much thinner, less substantial plastic, and absolutely NO padding. You can actually feel the plastic frame/base right through the fabric, which I can't imagine would be very comfortable. And the carrying handle kept sticking on this model. On the Snugride 32 model, the quality of materials is so much better - it has the "GracoPedic" padding, which makes it much softer, and the plastic is much more solid and the handle is smoother. Overall, a much better seat and worth the extra $$.

I LOVE THIS CAR SEAT! It fits perfectly into our SUV. It is very sturdy and secure. I had a graco carseat in the past and hated it because it seemed unstable, but this one is great. The fabric is very easy to clean by hand and it all comes off easily to machine wash too (I have a messy baby). To me the solid colors are more attractive than those aged patterns. It is so easy to adjust the straps which is a major plus. I wish I would have had this when my other kids were infants!

I love this seat. I have used it now for almost 6 months and it has been perfect. It installs nicely and is very snug and secure. It is cute and girlie which makes it even better! I will be sad when my daughters gets too heavy to use it. I got the matching stroller and I love the set!

If I were to have a not great thought about it... it does NOT fit into most shopping carts seats but I have learned to just put it in the basket. I have read that is not a safe place for babies anyway as new cart designs have made it much easier for the carts to tip over after being top heavy so I feel better about it anyway. I am not sure if new cart designs have made it so that other carriers do not fit on there well either or if it is a design problem with this seat... this is not enough of an issue for me to not rate this seat 5 stars!

I've used many carseats as this is my third baby. I actually bought an Evenflo before this one but had to return it due to a malfunction and the fact it wouldn't fit in my minivan. This Snugride fits and fits securely in my van (someone mentioned it not fitting tightly in their vehicles but it does!). My baby is more comfortable too. Love the fabric, easy to install and do not know why some call it bulky. It's a carseat- they're all bulky! This one, however, is smaller than many other seats out there. Headrest provided works great for 1-month-olds and up.

I love this Car seat! It is easy to use. We haven't had any problems with it. Our little girl is a chunk so the weight limit of 22 lbs (many go up to 25) means that in a month or so we will be looking for a new Car seat, but we love this one!

I have twin girls and a 3 year old. For one twin we bought the Graco seat for the other twin we used my sons car seat which is soooo much better! This car seat doesn't fit in many shopping carts and is very wobbly in the car. The base doesn't install tightly into either my Husbands Honda Civic or my Toyota Mini Van. It feels a lot more unsafe than my other car seat.
