Did you know that "Tonka" means "great" in Sioux? It's no surprise considering just how long this great, reliable brand of toy trucks has been around! In 1947, the first Tonka brand toy trucks were actually designed and manufactured by the Mound Metalcraft Company, a small garden toll manufacturer operating from a small schoolhouse basement in Minnesota. In their first year of operation, a staff of only a half dozen people produced a total of 37,000 metal trucks with two designs. This inventory sold out in just a few months as many post-World War II families quickly accepted this new toy. As a result, in 1949, the first Tonka dump truck was introduced launching the first generation of the Tonka brand's family tree. Today, the Tonka brand upholds the same premise it was found on: a toy should be durable and provide the child with as much play value possible.

The racket these things make will cause a kid to go deaf! Extremely, underline & bold EXTREMELY, loud! It sounds as though the actual EMS vehicles are IN the house! Took the batteries out to prevent having to learn sign language!

These are great trucks, my son loved them from the minute we gave it to him and he still loves them...these are the first toys he runs to when he wakes up, and he wants his dad to sit and play with him with these trucks ! Cant wait to buy the other sets !! The only thing I would change is the volume of the sirens and horns when u push the buttons but hey, they amuse him so I deal with it ! As long as he is happy we are !

I bought these cars for my son (age 2) for Christmas and he loves them. He loves cars and these are the perfect size to carry around however with that being said I found these to be over priced for the size. But then I bought them on sale for [$] each and that price seams to me more reasinable.

WE BOUGHT THESE CARS FOR OUR SON THIS PAST CHRISTMAS, AND HE LOVES IT. THEY ARE VERY DURABLE, MY SON AND GODSON ARE VERY HARD ON TOYS,THESE TRUCKS HAVE BEEN TOSSED AROUND AND THE LIGHTS AND SOUND STILL WORKS AND I DIDN'T REPLACED THE BATTERIES.VERY DURABLE AND WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
