I remember my original Simon game from when I was little in the 80's and was delighted to find this smaller MUCH easier to hold version being made!

This is the same sequencing game that we all know, love and have come to expect from Simon, but with an added twist: swiping (think along the lines of swiping on your phone or tablet!)

Don't worry, you will still see the flashing light & hear the corresponding sound as your sequence builds much like the original Simon, BUT now, they've added in the swipe which can either be up/down or down/up swiping for added difficulty WITH corresponding sliding sound effects!

Remember: If you fail to follow the correct sequence, you will hear the "Failed!" sound effect go off just as you probably remember!

You can still even play the original Simon game on this unit, but there are three new game variations available making this even more fun than when we were kids!

The game does come with the necessary batteries for play so all you have to do outside of freeing the unit from its packaging is set the game tab from demo mode to play mode and you are good to go!

This unit is designed to be more of a handheld unit than the original table top unit from days gone by that was awkward & at times difficult to work with for little ones. This new unit is much more user friendly because of the hand-held nature!

When first turned on, the Simon Swipe game will flash all four of its lights and give you the choice of four different game varieties. If you press the red button, you can choose which level you would like providing you have unlocked them already!

Like the original incarnation of Simon, you start out at an easy to learn level and play becomes more difficult as you progress. In the beginning, you only have to get a few sequences correct to move on to the next leval and restart the sequences.

As you move on to harder levels, the swipe combinations come into play. It is truly hard to remember whether to tap or swipe and then if the swipe was downward swipe or upward! This makes game play VERY challenging, but fun! There are supposedly eight levels, but of course we have never made it THAT far!

The yellow game is the original Simon game with taps only, making for the perfect introduction for new or younger players to get used to the game before adding in the swiping! The blue level is where the most difficult swiping/tapping combinations are kept. The green game is for groups for sharing and passing to other players in between each new combination(think family game night or even party games!)

Of course being Simon, this Simon Swipe game is very addictive. The sensors are very sensitive to the touch because of the swiping feature in combinations.

It is best played indoors or not in direct sunlight otherwise, the lights may be difficult to see making for harder gameplay!

I am a child of the 80's so when I recieved the Simon Swipe game free from Hasbro & BzzAgent I was excited to see if my kids would like this new game as much as I enjoyed the old one. I was glad to see that batteries WERE included. The game has four different levels, the first one being the basic old school Simon game..the kids found that pretty easy plus they loved the lights and sounds..it's when we got to the swiping part that things began to get frustrating. The game is very strict about how you hold & swipe so even the slightest deviation and you are out. I realize there's a learning curve but between memorizing the pattern as well as the tempermental game itself, the kids just wanted to stick to the first level...which was fine with me as it was the only way I could keep up. All in all the kids enjoyed it and will no doubt use it again.

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Simon Swipe Game:

I gave this game to my 5 year old son. I had the original Simon in the 80's and I was hoping that he would enjoy this game as much as I did. As a 5 year old, he is under the "recommended age" but I thought that with some assistance it would still be a good toy for him. I cannot recommend this toy enough. I LOVE that there is a volume control and even a silent mode. There is also the ability to change the difficulty level of this toy. As the game progresses my son does have trouble remembering the order, especially as it gets faster but for now, it's a great toy to play with him. He will ask to play this game over Sonic and other games on the iPad, which is a win in my book! As he gets older I know he'll be able to play this more on his own and progress throughout the levels. My 3 year old is intrigued by this game, the lights and the sounds, but he certainly is no where near ready for it.

I have to admit, after the kids have gone to bed, my husband and I play with this toy. Something about picking up a game from your childhood - nothing like it.

I received this game for free from Hasbro. Although the product was free all of the thoughts and opinions are my own. I would recommend this toy for kids 7+ and 5+ if they have help from an adult.

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Simon Swipe Game:

I received this game through BzzAgent for a Hasbro campaign for review. As much as I loved the original Simon and wanted to like the new and improved version, this one fell short. The concept of the game is the same as the old one with the exception that it adds the ability to swipe a color in the pattern. Which is a great way to make the game a little more difficult and makes you remember more. Unfortunately, the swipe feature does not work very well. At times, it won't register that you swiped the color and at other times it registers that you swiped the color when you didn't. Very frustrating and caused my children to lose interest quickly.

I received this game free from Hasbro via BzzAgent. It was a hit among the teenagers in the family during the Thanksgiving celebration. My husband and I prefer the old version, we found this a little confusing. I do, however, recommend this game for the young ones (10+ years) in the family, good way to give them a break from video games and tablets.

My four kids all played with this ages ranging from 4 to 12. My 9 and 12 year old really enjoyed it while my 4 and 6 year olds did not understand the game or have quick enough reflexes anyway to be good at it and got bored easily. Two weeks later my older two are still playing it, so that says something! I am 34 and thought it was fun as well!

Ok, first thing first- Over all great game! I remember playing this as a child- but it has a twist! Its a little more challenging- Sort of makes me made they changed such a classic game but getting with the times. My oldest loved this- younger kids have the nack for catching on to these things! My husband loved it too! WARNING very addicting though! Loads of family fun for sure! -I was lucky enough to have been provided this from Hasbro to review the product-

I have 5 yr olds and they had very hard time with it. My 7 year old nephew did great; got up to 16 different combinations. Unfortunately, he lost interest after this. It is rated for 8+ so that is very reasonable. Many of my family members took a few (or many) tries at it. The adults probably found it more challenging and interesting. #GotItFree

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Simon Swipe Game:

I'm a fan of the classic Simon game, so I was very interested to try this version when it came in a pack of games from Hasbro for me to test. It's very simple to use and required very little learning curve to get the hang of the first few levels. Even my 4 year old was able to clear a few even though his hand wasn't large enough to hold it properly. It is rated for ages 8+.

As a parent, I generally don't care for toys that make loud beeping sounds, so I was glad that this game has adjustable volume- from mute to very quiet to hear across the house loud. The challenges scale up nicely and game sounds overjoyed when you clear a level.

My daughter kept saying "You made it happy!" everytime the chime would play. This new version is a great refresh of the classic Simon that we will find entertaining for many more days to come.

I expect this game to last a long time as the buttons are not raised so it will be easy to spot clean (always a bonus around toddlers)as necessary.

My family and I received this game from BzzAgent for free to review.

My husband and I remember playing Simon as a kid, so seeing it again was a trip down memory lane! It took us a few tries to get the hang of it again. It wasn't too long before we decided to try out some of the newer aspects of the game. The swipes add to the difficulty of the patterns to remember!

My kids even got into the game and they are 3 & 4 years old. They could make it through level 1 and through a portion of level 2. The best part was when they lost, the didn't throw their usual sore-loser tantrum.. I think seeing daddy and I losing and still having plenty of fun helped!

This is a good family game that gets everyone involved. My kids are just old enough to enjoy playing games as a family and this one has made it's way into the permanent rotation!

This game was a classic back in my day and still is today. The old simon you would push the light pattern and that would be kinda it, still fun, but this NEW version is modern & fun.

We all slide our fingers on our smartphone and tablets daily and that's what I love about this NEW Simon Swipe, you can slide your finger and press the buttons it's modern technology mixed with their Original.

There is tons of patterns, which means tons of fun, testing gaming skill for family game nights, car rides & parties! Easy just follow the light patterns and your having fun, so easy to get everyone gaming with Hasbro!
