My daughter loves this Pomeranian dog. It is very realistic but very stiff. The fur is soft and easy to comb. A bit pricey since the dog does not "do anything."

Of the many Melissa and Doug products I own, I have been more than impressed with them all. Maybe I was expecting too much from this plush pomeranian. It looks so perfect and lifelike in the online image. I couldn't wait to open the box, and when I did I was very disappointed. The dog was all matted. I realize it had been shippied from California, and so I began trying to fix the hair. But when I say this dog was matted, I mean it was seriously matted. I spent over an hour trying to fix it. This was the present I was most excited about this Christmas, since my son is in love with grandma's pom-pom, and wants his own. Since we cannot have a real dog now, this seemed like his dream come true. Even after I brushed this little guy out, he still looked nothing like the picture. His ears were flat, his tail was not curled, his face was different. The fur looked unkempt like a dog that really needs a trip to the groomer, right after I brushed him! I was upset because I knew my son would want to hug the dog, and play with him. I had to be so delicate handling him so I didn't get his fur all messy again, and I could tell that within a minute of holding and hugging this dog, my son would have him looking like he did when he arrived in the box. He would be very upset and want me to fix him, and I couldn't spend an hour every day brushing out a fake dog. That is the kind of commitment that comes with a real dog, and this one doesn't even love and play with us! [...] Anyway, I love Melissa and Doug, but this item was below their usually high standard of quality.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
