The Play Doh brand is proud to celebrate over 50 years of colorful, creative play. Play Doh first introduced in 1956, Play Doh modeling compound has become a classic and beloved toy, used in homes and schools around the world by children of all ages. In 1956 Play Doh Brand modeling compound, a non-toxic reusable modeling compound developed by Rainbow Crafts in Cincinnati, Play Doh was demonstrated and sold in the toy department of Woodward & Lothrop Department Store in Washington, D.C. Play Doh compound is available only in one color and size, an off-white, 1.5-pound can. One year earlier, Play Doh was introduced to schools, kindergartens and nursery schools. In 1991 Play Doh compound joins Hasbro, Inc. as part of the Playskool line, when Hasbro purchased the Tonka Corporation and its Kenner and Parker Brothers divisions.

Got it on sale and play-doh is a favorite at our house! Couldn't go wrong and Gramps was glad to be part of a purchase that he could play with when he visits. Our molds are not brand name. If you look, there are some fun, inexpensive extruders available that don't limit imagination to a theme. Would be nice if Toys-R-Us would carry them :D First year to take advantage of on-line CHRISTmas specials - will be shopping with you in the future. It was great to avoid in-store crowds!!

I bought cute playdoh kits for both of my kids, the only problem was they came with such a small amount of playdoh, only a couple of little cans each. I bought 2 of these to give with them so they would have plenty of playdoh to use their imaginations with. You can't go wrong with a classic toy like this.

Play Doh is the best. My kids love playing with this and it keeps them busy for hours. This is not like most other toys where they get tired and stop playing - they play with play doh a lot! The only downfall with this is that it will stick to the carpet and it is very hard to get out. I usually let them sit where there is no carpet for easy clean up.

Fun Colors! When I first opened this my initial thought was the containers were a bit too small, but after watching my children play with it, the quantity of playdough in each one is suffice for the things that they make, typically they dont even use all of one collor when they are creating something fun.
