The soft sipper straw is protected from contamination by a uniquely designed and easy-to-use flip top cover. I used these cups before they were BPA free for my son, and was so glad to see they are now BPA free! I wanted my son to use a cup with a straw for various reasons, and he took to this cup very well. I did stop using it when I realized it was made with unsafe plastic. I was disappointed, but my son was older by then and able to handle some of the other bulkier straw cups. (which are not as good in my opinion, they leak). I am so glad that these are available BPA free for my daughter to use. A few people mentioned the straw being hard to clean. My solution to that is to use a pipe cleaner. That worked perfectly. I highly recommend this cup! No leaks, and a nice lightweight design for babies who are just learning.

We received this from grandma. My little guy LOVES it!! It barely spills, easy to hold, super great. BUT, that straw is a pain to clean. Giant pain. I couldn't figure out what smelled so bad until I noticed all the trapped grossness was stuck in the straw and mouth piece.

I absolutely adore this cup. i can easily get liquid out of it since my daughter likes to "share" her juice and water. My daughter also does not have to bite the straw at all.

I love this cup. My 3 yr old son has Down Syndrome and he never drank out of a bottle. Started on a sippy cup, went through several before found the nuby cups. Love them except easy to chew on nipple & straw. Found the flip n sip straw cup which helped in the development of his jaw muscles. The only complaint is he has chewed through the straw. The straw should be a little more durable. Other than that I love it

As a first-time mom, I had no experience with sippy cups. Some friends and family members had given us hand-me-downs left from their kids. There were all kinds, but our daughter didn't really do well with any of them. She had a hard time lifting them to drink and ended up using them as teethers instead. Worse, they all leaked, especially in the diaper bag or when tossed. A friend sugsested getting a cup with a straw instead. It took a while to find one because she needed one with handles (she is too young to hold one without them). I finally stumbled across this product. It has been amazing. She took to it right a way. Unlike all the other cups this one does not leak if put together properly. Our daughter tosses it clear across the room and it doesn't leak. I only bought one originally, now I need more!

I tested the cup before giving to baby and couldn't get the liquid out by sucking the straw..I took it apart, looked inside..couldn't figure it out..then realized that you have to bite the straw to open the little hole in the middle..this is a bad habit to teach--especially when the instructions say don't allow your child to bite or chew the straw b/c it's a choking hazard!! Then why the heck do you make a straw you have to bite on???

My daughter prefers a straw cup over the traditional kind you tilt back to drink from. This cup is cute and colorful, doesn't leak, and is easy to drink from. We've been using these cups for 3 months and have had no big problems. Sometimes if we haven't dried the cup completely after washing it its hard to suck through the straw, but if you blow and suck through it a few times its fine again and your baby/toddler should have no problems.

It's a nice designed cup but the straw is awful. Your child has to bite or use his tougue to press against the straw to get the liquid. That mimics that he is doing with a bottle and really defeats the purpose of graduating to a straw cup.
