I purchased this product as a Xmas gift. Imagine the disappointment when the child opened it , to find one red based pawn missing. Since this gift was purchased in August and here it is Dec. don't even think about getting the store to fix this problem. So I had to purchase another and pray it has that one red pawn. The child loves it, but can't fully enjoy without a complete set.

We bought this for my 4 (almost 5) year old who is learning to play chess with her older sisters. She was very excited to have a set all her own. And we got it on clearance -- it was a steal.

Adorable set - worth every penny! We had a great time with the set and laughing over the cute characters. Obviously, the game of chess is more complicated than a young child will master, but I played several games with my ten year old and the younger ones are learning the moves too!

This product is a fun item for kids that do not put toys in mouths - the figures are small and break easy.I think people should be aware that the "chess board" is actually imprinted onto the bottom of the tin box - yeah the tin box is easily bent, but easily knocked back into shape.We use the figures to pretend play, game play, so I think its a good buy - guess it depends on how you use it. If your looking for Great quality dont purchase this, if your looking for fun then its worth the [$]!!!

She simply loves this games though she has more toys than she will ever be able to use. She plays with it everyday!!!!!!!

I purchased this item because I couldn't find any Sesame Street character figurines to place as decoration on top of my son's 2nd birthday cake. They are going to work perfectly! One problem, it did NOT come with an Elmo figurine..who would have guessed? My son loves to play with them as well...just not as intended.
