Do not buy this potty seat if you have a boy! Buy the arm and hammer version. This one has no pee guard, pee would drip everywhere thru the cracks and onto the toilet seat and floor, and after a couple of weeks it began to stink because the soft padding absorbs the pee (even though I cleaned it after each use).

I bought this seat for my son who is learning to use the potty; he loves sitting on the big boy toilet, but the little peak at the front of the seat does not reflect any of the pee. I think this seat is designed for girls. I would not buy this for a little boy.

I like this potty seat for the most part! We've just started potty training our 15 month old, and she loves to sit on this. It has more cushion than other seats we've looked at. She is small, so this seems to fit her tiny toosh well! Only drawback...it doesn't perfectly fit an elongated toilet seat. This one moves around on it. For a standard round toilet seat, it fits perfectly! I haven't had any problems cleaning it thus far...it gets wiped down w/a baby wipe daily, and I'll disinfect it as needed. I can see how this probably isn't the best for boys as there is no urine guard. But why buy a potty seat that doesn't have one (if you have a boy)??
For the price, it's good. Not great. I agree, there could be some improvements...but I have not had smelly or cleanliness problems with it, and we've had this and used it for a month. Maybe b/c my daughter is so small she doesn't pee out onto the seat but maybe once or twice (if she's sitting crooked).
*I would recommend this to someone who has a standard toilet seat, not an elongated one. We'll be purchasing another seat for our upstairs elongated toilet (downstairs toilet has a standard seat on it).

Bought this for my daughter, now 3. Worked great in the beginning but then I noticed it started to smell. I wipe down after almost every use because sometimes my daughter gets pee on it. I couldn't understand why it smelled even with me cleaning it all the time, then I realized that the seat can absorb liquids! YUCK!!! I just threw it away!

My son loves loves this potty seat. He would rather use this one than the Sesame Potty seat. He says that the Sesame seat hurts. So I'm off to buying him another one for the basement bedrm =) Plus, I like the fact that the handles extend.

This seat is disgusting--the plastic has a crease right where the kids go potty and when you pull the seat off the toilet the potty that is in the crack goes all over your floor--hard to clean in this crack and just gross and a waste of time and money. Spend a few more dollars on the Baby bjorn which is great and very easy to clean.

This does not work for boys. There isn't enough room (the hole is too small) to help my 2 year old son aim while sitting. Therefore the pee shoots out between the seat & the toliet and runs down his legs. I had to stop toliet training because he ended up holding his pee from 11am until bedtime.

I ended up tossing this out and now have the stand alone FisherPrice froggie potty and my son is enjoying using it muliple times everyday. The shield is plenty high and there is no need to help him aim while sitting. (Which keeps both of us dry and allows me to read to him during potty practice.)

After reading other reviews I bought the more expensive Baby Bjorn seat to use on the toliet. The hole is much much bigger*** and when my son is ready to use the big toliet again there will be plenty of room to teach him to aim while sitting. ***when I'm lazy I can leave the seat on and go #1 w/o issue.
