I received this game free through a product testing campaign and was not excited about the concept of little balls of play-doh being launched around my house, envisioning little balls of dried goo stuck to my walls and ceiling. Pulling the toy out of the box required about 3 minutes of setup. The toy did require one C battery, which is not a standard size, so be aware of the need for this before assembling.

My 4 children ages 2-7 thought this was the most fantastic game they had ever played and everyone got in on the action of shaping the little balls of play-doh. My 2 and 4 year old both needed some assistance at first, but we're able to use the "squisher" to make smoothly shaped balls after a couple of tries. I appreciated that this allowed the younger kids to have smoothly shaped and consistent sized balls without constant parental intervention since they were a little young to do this freeform. Once the game was turned on, I realized that the launcher had enough power to get the play-doh to the center bucket but not really any further so there wasn't really any stray play-doh. If they missed a shot, they could reach to pick it up and try again on the next time around.

I was also impressed with the timing of the center bucket (the target that everyone was aiming for). Each child had enough time to make one shot and then the unit would turn towards the next child. This was a great reinforcement of the concept of taking turns without being annoying to my children. Since the unit only had 3 stations and I have 4 children, one child sat out each round and played with the extra shapes/molds included with the device while siblings were flinging play-doh.

This game seems to be very well designed, keeping in mind the needs of the target age group. My children were all engaged with this game and played about 20 minutes before moving on to other activities. They have asked to play again on a nearly daily basis since then. This game definitely was the favorite family game that my children have played together in a while.

The only concern with this game that I experienced was an issue with the motor. By the end of the first night of play, the motor was beginning to hesitate while turning. By the second day of play, it completely stopped turning unless someone manually assisted it whenever it began to falter in its rotation. This made the game completely unplayable. I contacted customer service and was actually able to speak to a helpful, live, English speaking person in less than 5 minutes (awesome in this day and age). Brad was very helpful and stated that the motor seemed to be defective in the unit I received. He sent me a prepaid postage label so that I could return the toy and said they would mail me a new unit. I mailed out the defective unit when I got the postage label, and at this point am waiting to receive the replacement unit. Hopefully it will work well, because my children love this toy and were very sad to see it go.

I recently received this product for free from Hasbro in exchange for a review. This game was the one I was most excited to receive because I thought my 4 year old twins would love it.....I was quickly disappointed.

First out of the box, it takes some assembly....this was the easy part. We got it out, set it up and started following the directions.

In the directions, it indicates that you are supposed to "take 10 small marble sized pieces of play doh" before beginning the game. Then you are supposed to place the "marble sized piece" on the launch pad and use the mold to make it into a ball......this was a little misleading! I don't know about you, but I've never seen "marble sized balls" come in the canister of play doh.....so when I was on that step I was having my kids roll up 10 balls, only to turn around and two steps later in the directions find out I could use the mold to make the balls. This would have saved a lot of time if they would have just combined those two steps!

The next problem we encountered was the battery. There was not a battery included, so I had to take the game apart to turn it over to insert the battery. The problem.....the screw was stripped so it took quite a while for me to get the compartment open to place the battery.
Once we finally had power, and turned the machine on, we FINALLY began to play. The fun lasted for about 15 minutes before the "Orange Guy" can that you are supposed to launch your play doh into, began catching. It was minimal at first, but on every rotation it just became more noticeable, until after about 15 minutes it was sticking for several seconds in the same spot. This defect pretty much made the game a bust, because it provides an unfair advantage to the player who it is facing when it begins catching.....and it's frustrating to the other players. Fortunately, I only have two children, so we modified the game, and mom moved to the spot that was catching and "pretended" to miss all of her shots so we could continue playing.

The other minor detail I would change about the directions is not making 10 balls to launch.
There is no point in having this many balls when the entire goal of the game is to be the first player to launch 3 balls into "orange guy". Then all the balls are removed and you start another game. We cut ours in half to 5, just in case we launch one across the room and don't have time to retrieve it while game is in play.

Overall, I was disappointed.....

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Play-Doh Launch Game:

PLay Doh Launch is a fun game for sure!!My kids have laughed and laughed playing this game.
We received it as a Bzz capaighn to review for Hasbro. At first I thought we were gonna dislike it for a
cple reasons. Batteries not included! They are not your typical everyday batteries We C size.
After all the fuss and running to the store for batteries it was on like donkey kong.
I was worried about getting the play dough in the carpet so I made them play at the table.
Its been atleast a month now since we got the game and they ask toplay it everyday still. Im pretty sure the Kids love the competitive side of it. Each player has
there own color to use and you never have to worry about losing the piece as play doh is easy replace.
Game play simple Make your play doh balls put in launcher and time your launch according to the play doh guy.It provides great sensory and keeps kids busy at the table while I get the cooking done.
Glad we got to try this out. Its a hitt for our family.

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Play-Doh Launch Game:

I received this game for free from Hasbro. Play-Doh Launch Game was a big hit with my four year old son. My seven year old daughter enjoyed it but her attention span was shorter. Assembly was easy and does require one C battery. We started by playing the game, launching Play-Doh balls into the bucket. It was fun but the little bucket fills up pretty quickly. We chose to make our balls before starting the game to limit frustration with the 4 year old. After a few rounds, we started using the molds on the arms to make different shapes and attempted to launch those too. In the end my son was making me shapes and asking me to launch them. The game is ok but my son had a lot of fun just playing with it. I liked that the game comes apart so that all the pieces can go back in the box when you are finished. I would recommend this toy if your children enjoy Play-Doh.

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Play-Doh Launch Game:

I am a BZZAgent and received this game free from Hasbro.
The Play Doh Launch O Rama looked like a lot of fun. I have two young children who love to play with Play Doh so at first they were very excited to try out this new toy. The packaging is bright colorful and the setup only took a short time. There were three different colored containers of Play Doh which allows each player to have their own color while playing the game.
The game itself looks fun and the concept for little ones to understand. My kids loved making their own Play Doh balls using the mold and there were some other molds that can be made as well. For a very short time my children, 8 and 11 years old did show interest and had some fun playing.
The main issue with the game was that the spinner-mouth mechanism just didn't work properly. The spinner gets jammed and sticks in place and after having to push it along several times, we all got frustrated and lost interest. It makes a very loud ticking sound once it gets jammed. The launcher doesn't work either. After just a few good launches the mouth became too full and the kids couldn't continue without stopping the game and removing the Play Doh. My kids haven't picked it up since the first day.

Imagine my excitement when I received a shipment of games from Hasbro to test out for FREE! Yep, You heard that right, courtesy of Hasbro we were lucky enough to be able to test out the games to see what we thought... And that is where the 'fun' begins and sadly in this case, ends.

First of all let's start with the set up of the game. It was very easy to do. However, make sure you have the correct batteries before trying to play this. They take a size that we don't normally have around the house, so beware of that. Next, this game would be fun for preschool aged kids I would think, but the concept is so... blah. Tossing play-doh pieces into this can that goes around and around?!? It was VERY short lived fun for BOTH of my kids (aged 7 & 9) and myself. They had more fun playing with the actual Play-Doh then flinging it into the can. We played a round or two before they both quit and went onto something else. If you have a child above the age of 5, you'll probably end up disappointed in this too. Buy regular Play-Doh and let them have at it and be creative! We were disappointed in this game overall.

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Play-Doh Launch Game:

My family received this game for free from Hasbro to try and review. My opinion is 100% my own.

The game is simple in concept and after playing a couple of guided rounds, they are able to play it independently. Sometimes they choose to do "free play" with it rather than compete. The only issue they had was when they wanted to use the molds. If a shape they wanted to use wasn't on their arm of the game they would reach over to get to the one they wanted so that caused a couple of arguments. I would also suggest initially teaching the kids to "pause" the gameplay after 2-3 balls have been successfully launched into the Play-Doh guy's cup to remove the Play Doh. It can get full quickly and it's almost impossible to get additional balls launched into it.

The set up/takedown is quick & simple. One "C" size battery is needed to operate the rotating Play-Doh cup.

All that being said, my two boys (3 & 4 years old) are absolutely HOOKED on this game! They ask for it multiple times throughout the week and can easily occupy them for an hour or so at a time!

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Play-Doh Launch Game:

(I received this game for free from HASBRO.)I have a bias when I comes to Play Doh. I feel I should admit that right off the bat. I don't care for it. However my kids love it of course. That being said I will try to give my honest opinion on this game. Right out of the box the set was easy to assemble. A big no no for me though right as the start is the fact that the game requires a C battery. As a parent to an 8 and 10 year old with HEAPS of toys that require batteries I always have a supply of AA and AAA batteries on hand because that's what 95% of toys on the market run on these days. Having to make a special trip out to find that allusive C battery was not cool. Who keeps C batteries on hand? Anyway, after initial setup and battery run we were all set to play. After about 10 or 15 minutes my kids were just more interested in playing with the Play Doh and making shapes (and a mess which is my main reason for not liking Play Doh). I think Play Doh is more fun when imaginative play is involved. Sure chucking balls of Play Doh into a mini Trash can is fun for awhile but I think kids get more playtime out of it when they can create. Play Doh has other items on the market that fit this requirement to a T. Overall I really wouldn't recommend this particular playset for fans of Play Doh.

Who doesn't love Playdoh!? All 3 of my kids love it (as do I), so they were pretty excited to play this. Before the game started everyone made a ton of balls and I helped my 3 year old. Smaller kids wouldn't be able to make them fast enough making older kids more likely to win, if different age groups are playing together. It is somewhat hard to get the balls into the cup because the timing has to be just right, but for the most part it's not too difficult. My 10 and 5 year old had fun, with the 5 year old getting frustrated. The 3 year old just thought it was hilarious to launch them. Even after I turned the game off they still played with it, making balls and the different cut-outs. The only problem is that this game HAS to have separate colors. Once colors get mixed, it'll be difficult to play. I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind Play-doh and the small mess it creates.

**I'm a member of BzzAgent and got this product free from a promotion. I wasn't required to write a review and these are my own opinions.

A C battery is also required and luckily we had one on hand. 3 players can play at one time. Each player makes balls out of the playdoh that came with the game (or you can supply your own) and then launches their playdoh into the moving bucket in the center. The person who gets the most balls in wins the game.

My children enjoyed playing the game. My 9 year old was the reigning champ. We did have some difficulty with the bucket in the center getting "stuck" and not turning like he was supposed to after the children played for awhile. Turning it off and turning it on again seemed to fix the problem. The game does not keep their attention very long. After a short period of time they get bored with launching the playdoh, but they do request to play it often.

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Play-Doh Launch Game:

I was a little nervous about having play doh flinging going on in my house... and was quite relieved to discover that they didn't over-shoot very often. Phew! The balls are formed fairly easily (but my 4 year old did need some help.) The launchers do their job nicely and, with the right pressure and right aim, the balls sail right in! My 8-yr old was making it in every single time it was her turn. I had to make her skip every other turn so the other two had more of a chance! The kids were excited to play it and have asked to play it again and again so I know they like it. #GotItFree
