I LOVED this at first when my breadfed son didn't have very smelly diapers. Once he began eating solids, this pail would stink up his entire room. I've tried stick on air freshners, but my son can reach them. My husband has to Lysol the canister with every bag change (and we can never wait until the bag is full). Not sure what the answer is, but for now we are just using small grocery bags and taking them out each night.

I love this diaper pail. I work at a daycare center and I am a mom of a one month old. We have these diaper pails at the daycare in the nursery, toddler, and two year old rooms. It works great for every age. You can't even smell that my baby poops at my house. The only thing that I don't believe is the amount of newborn diapers that it says it holds.

Great diaper pail! I love this because you can use any trash bag instead of buying expensive diaper pail refill bags. You don't have to touch or "squish" the diaper down which is nice when your baby starts having massive blow ups. Use some common sense and don't attempt to just put wipes in without a diaper; they'll jam. As far as the smell, use scented kitchen bags. Once your baby starts eating solids (you'll notice the aroma right away), just put a car freshener in the bottom of the container to help "contain" the really stinky smells. It will hold many diapers so you don't have to worry about emptying it every other day.

When my son was breastfeeding and was in smaller diapers the Diaper Champ was great. However, once he started eating formula and solids the Champ did NOT contain the smell at all. We had to Lysol around it after every change and it still stunk up his room. Also, as he got into bigger diapers the lid would get stuck after we rotated it to get the diaper into the trash bag. We'd have to open it up and pull the diaper out of the lid where it had gotten stuck and put it in the trash bag ourselves. Kind of defeats the purpose...

I love this product! I have the old design because I used this with my daughter who is now 5 years old, and I am using it again with my baby son. It's so convenient because you can use any plastic bag in it and don't have to fuss around buying special, expensive refills all the time. It also controls odors surprisingly well. I cannot speak for this new design, but I have had no problems with cleaning the one I have. I highly recommend this!

Horrendous. Each time we change the bag it locks up and won't open. Maybe ours is defective but I don't really have the time to go shopping for a new diaper pail right now. I curse whatever reviews I read that prompted me to purchase this one, as I really have to control the urge to throw it out the window.

We LOVE this! I put a normal garbage bag in there and when it is full, there is still enough room in the garbage bag to empty a couple small garbage cans (from the bathroom and nursery) before taking the whole bag out. While I am breastfeeding, there is a bit of a smell to baby's diapers and this keeps the smell locked in! I couldn't live without it!

I originally liked this product because we could use any bags with it but if you do something crazy like use mostly cloth diapers and you try to throw wipes away without sticking them in a disposable diaper first the mechanism will get stuck and the old wipes will pop out the back once you do get it to flip over. For our next baby we will not be using this product, I will gladly purchase something that I have to use refills for.

I have the older Diaper Champ. Its great. My 2 yr old is not potty trained yet.Obviously there is a little bit of smell when you change the bag.But I use scented Liners. Once in a while I also leave it open in my patio overnight(empty)to air it out. After there is not smell. Not yet that is..
