Three levels of activity
This classic play set features three levels of activity. You can take your Matchbox cars (sold separately) to the car wash on the second level or to the auto shop on the top for a tune-up.
Elevator
The elevator in this garage really works. Turn the knob on top of the garage to give your car a ride to the top, and then send your vehicle spiraling down the exit ramp.
Parking spaces
There are parking spaces on all three levels of this garage, providing plenty of room for your collection of Matchbox cars (sold separately). The parking spots are labeled, including a handicapped-designated space on the lowest level.
Tow truck
Need a tow? You are in luck, because this set comes with a cool blue tow truck. When the time comes, tow a broken-down car into the elevator so it can be lifted up to the shop.

I just assembled this toy, and found it to be exactly what I wanted for my daughter, who is now joyfully playing with it. She's 2, and has expressed significant interest in matchbox cars, but clearly prefers using them on a track or structure (the wooden train sets one finds in some libraries and stores have been a huge hit). She's not so coordinated that she can put them back together if they come apart, though, so I wanted something which was complicated enough to be interesting, and all of a single piece once assembled. It's perfect for that--not absurdly big, but large enough, with enough stuff to do, that it looks like it'll be fun for a long time.

Regarding quality, I've seen other reviews saying both that it's flimsy and that it isn't. I regard that as a good sign. I've encountered the fisher-price garage from my own youth, and it's strongly built--could probably survive being thrown across the room or down the stairs. But that's excessive--I don't want to pay for stationary toys to be constructed to that standard, because it's unlikely to be relevant. Also, this one is in some ways preferable because of its economy, in that the garage is now narrower and therefore easier to reach into.

By contrast, I've also encountered some of the store brand (Fastlane) structures, and they go a little too far toward economizing. They don't stay together well, and aren't very durable. I'm glad the option exists, and for kids who lose interest quickly that might be the right tradeoff--you definitely get more stuff for the money.

For my family's purposes, the matchbox garage is the happy medium. I expect it to last through two or three kids' use, it's quick to assemble, has no decals, and won't easily come apart. It's not the sort of super-high-quality item I'd give five stars to, but if I only bought those, my kids wouldn't have many toys.

Its cute and exactly as pictured. It took me three months to get this item b/c it is never in stock and I was so excited to get it, perhaps that is why I was equally as dissapointed, the little yellow levers fall off about 600 times a day. The entire windy track comes apart often and the little support thing under the track comes off too. Dont buy this for a child under 4 years old- all it does is frustrate them, because the parts are small- the elevator is kinda tricky to operate and my son gets so frustrated that I wanna drop kick this toy into my backyard. However he does play with it a lot. If you choose to get this for your toddler just be prepared for the high maintenance that comes with it.

    - Matchbox should make more of these types of toys. I wish they would make an improved / updated Sto-n-Go City playset (like Hot wheels had in the 70-80's).

        Got this for my daughter, now 3, last year to replace a cheap Christmas gift (a Fast Lane garage, that broke Christmas Day). My 3 year old loves it & plays with it for hours on end with her sister who is 4. They even let their baby sister, who's 1, join in the fun. Very durable, well constructed, enough moving parts to provide interest. My only "problem" is some of the non essential parts fall off (eg. parking sign) & need to be glued on. I also feel very comfortable with the fact that it doesn't seem to have small parts that is always a choking concern when you have children in different age ranges.

            I brought this for my son last christmas. the gates always fell off which was no big deal; but sadly they have only had it less than a year and the elevator broke and is not usable. for the money seems it should last more than a year.

                  I purchased this for my 3 year old's birthday. He absolutely LOVES this! It has become an instant favorite in the house! No issues putting it together, amazing considering that I had him climbing all over me from excitement. Piece's fit perfectly, no lips. Great size, not too big to take an obnoxious amount of space, not too small so grownups can still fit there fingers in to play along. Track is sturdy, buttons on the ramp gates are easy to press. He easily figured out how to turn the dial for the elevator lift, and as a parent, I like that I don't have to worry about needing batteries and listening to the toy noises, but it is always nice to sit back and listen to a content child playing with his favorite toy! Great job Matchbox!

                    This is an adorable toy, but smaller than I expected and MUCH more fragile. The age suggestion says 3 years old, but my 2.5-year-old and 5-year-old broke the top ramp after very little play. Actually, all the ramps come apart very easily, especially if you're playing with it on a play table. At first I didn't mind putting it back together a bunch of times, but then the plastic actually busted and now it's useless. I have two rambunctious boys and some toys just aren't made for them. Turns out this was one of them.
