I'm really excited for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, so I am determined to get all of the sets for the film. When I saw these in the store, I was really excited as I thought these weren't coming out until July or August. With the money I had, I could only afford this one, but I was not disappointed. This set has a LOT of play value, as each feature of it is meant to fly. I spent alot of time myself just swooshing either the Nova Corps ship, the bad guy's ship, called Necrocraft, or Star-Lord himself with his boot jets around. It also has some great figs: Star-Lord: An awesome minifig with fantastic printing on the front and back of the torso. A lot of reflective parts here, from the buttons on his jacket to its zipper. The only weird printing is on the legs, where the red is notably darker and seems more faded than most other minifigure legs. Also, the set gives you the option to have him wearing his brand new LEGO mask or revealing his alter ego, Peter Quill, with two different expressions. It also gives you two brand new LEGO blasters. It may be hard to tell at first, but this minifig is exclusive to this set, as this depicts Star-Lord when he's still a criminal before he becomes one of the Guardians. Nova Officer: Another great figure, this guy also has great torso printing with alot of detail, a great brand new helm and two faces. He's got nice silver printing and is also exclusive to this set. The only bad things about the figure is that his legs are blank and the only accessory he is given is a pair of handcuffs. The Sakaaran: Not alot is known about these guys in terms of their role in the movie, but it seems pretty apparent that they are this films' disposable bad guy henchmen. Despite this, this an a really cool figure! While having completely blank legs, the torso printing is really cool in a weird way. It looks almost bony in nature. The head has two faces, one with an eerily awesome mask that only reveals one reflective eye, the other showing off the entire face. To top it all off, it has yet another brand new blaster! Now onto the vehicles: Nova Corps Ship: While not a complicated build, this ship is pretty cool. It has adjustable back wings that are really neat and also has some good jet propulsion back details in a nice orange color. It also has really nice navy blue and yellow colors, which is a really eye-catching and unusual color scheme for LEGO. Also, they actually made the cockpit completely cover the pilot from exposure to outer space, solving a problem people have had with many different LEGO ships. The main flaw is that the only real detail in the cockpit is one of those sticker-applied control pads that LEGO uses to put something there for the pilot to control the ship with. Necrocraft: This is probably the oddest LEGO ship I've ever seen, but its still really cool! It combines completely different textures and colors into one vehicle, which gives this ship a strange alien feel, which fits perfectly for this movie. I also love how the wings point upward, its just so weirdly creative and original. The main flaws are that, this being the smaller ship in the set, it lacks detail and like the other ship, it just has a stick-applied control pad for the pilot to use. It also may seem a little "unfinished" in certain parts. Despite these flaws, though, its still a cool ship! It should be noted that there are some stickers on the cockpit, and anything underneath the sticker when applied to it will show up very clearly, so be careful with those. Overall: This is a great set. For $20, you get 3 figs, 2 of them exclusive, a bunch of brand new molds and a 3 flying vessels for great playability. It's also good for army-building, as it has two of the "henchmen" type guys, one good, one bad. In conclusion, buy this set!!

This seemed difficult for my child to put together on his own. With the help of his father he was able to have a really nice finished product. He enjoyed it for a little but didn't last long. He saw the HUB or cartoon network making of the guardians of the galaxy legos so naturally wanted it.

One of the best!
This set is one of the best ones you can get for it's price range of $20. It is simply amazing, including 3 minifigures, two "ships" and lots of minifigure accessories. First of all, I think that the minifigures are the best part of the set. The Sakaaran minifigure is also in the other 2 Guardians Of The Galaxy sets, but it is a good army builder and has very fine details. The Nova Officer, who is exclusive to the set, also has very excellent torso details and a very nice helmet mould. Star-Lord is the best minifigure in the set, in my opinion, because of his newly-moulded helmet AND gun pieces, not to mention that this minifigure is exclusive as well. The first ship in this set, the "Necrocraft" is small but really adds to the set. I really like the design of it because it is like nothing else I'd ever seen before, Lego or not Lego. It has a really nice color scheme, and a roomy cockpit for the Sakaaran to sit in. The design is especially unique due to the front-facing thin wings and forward-opening cockpit, as well as the overall shape of the craft. The second craft, named the "Starblaster" is also very nice. Similar to the Necrocraft, this design is also very unique with the shape and color scheme of the vehicle. I personally like the Necrocraft better, but this one is really just as cool. The squid-like structure gives it the ability to open and close the winglets of the back of it, giving the illusion on whether it's flying or landing. It, like the Necrocraft, has lots of legroom for the pilot flying the ship, but the cockpit is kind of bland. But, since it looks so good on the outside, I think that small problem is made up for. My only other complaint is that there are 7 stickers on this one ship, with the other one having 3. In my opinion, a set at this size and price shouldn't have that many stickers, but they do add to the look of the ships. the last thing I want to briefly talk about is the minifigure accessories. I usually don't talk about this in my other reviews, but I feel like this set deserves it. The accessories include a helmet for the Nova officer, A helmet for Star-lord, handcuffs, a hood, two transparent yellow 1x1x2 cylinder pieces portraying Star-lord's rockets, two small blaster pistols and one bigger blaster rifle. Did I mention the all-important Orb? All told I think this is a great set for all ages. With the easy-to-build structure and awesome minifigs, this is a must-have for any Guardians Of The Galaxy fan.
