My husband & I ordered this crib & matching dresser/changer in Cherry, and we were STUNNED at how gorgeous it is in person!!! The product photo doesn't do it justice! It is actually a much richer, darker cherry wood (simply STUNNING) and the craftsmanship is breathtakingly beautiful! VERY well made, high quality wood, doesn't scratch easily (I read a few reviews that said the wood scratches easily, but so far we have had no problems, and not a scratch on it) ... The crib was SO easy to assemble! It took my husband & I a whopping 15 minutes to put it together... The dresser came already assembled (warning though, it is quite heavy if you have a 2 story house & the nursery is on the 2nd story *LOL*) ... My only wish is that it also came with an actual changer (because the dresser/changer combo is a tad too small for me, as I want to put a few decorative items on the dresser AND a changing pad, and yeah, that just isn't going to happen) *LOL* So, we found a changer that sorta kinda matches this furniture set, and we'll just make do. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this crib & dresser in Cherry! We LOVE the set & couldn't he happier, WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! :)

Beautiful, but a pain in the butt

After replacing our first child's bed three times before he turned 5, my husband and I decided to splurge on a more expensive convertible crib for our second child. We fell in love with this one the moment we saw it, and sure enough, it was just as bautiful in person. While pregnant, I would stand in the nursery and just gaze at the set. So pretty.

But as my daughter grew and we got more use out of it, I noticed a LOT of things that made me downright nutty.

The finish on the wood is extremely fragile. We have our changing pad on top of the dresser, and the nylon strap that wraps around it has left lots of ugly scars in the top finish. We'll have to get it professionally refinished once we're done using the changing pad.

Because the front molding on the crib is so round and pillar-like, it's very difficult to tie crib bumpers onto the crib frame. They don't fit very well and make removing the mattress difficult for linen changing.

Adjusting the height of the mattress is by far my biggest complaint. Especially in the back, the eyeholes for the screws are blocked by the slats, so you can't reach them without completely disassembling the crib. I can't unscrew the mattress foundation and lower it without a major ordeal that usually leaves me in frsutrated tears, as my husband is deployed and I've had to do this twice by myself--trying to unscrew the springs and hold together the crib frame while making sue it doesn't fall apart on me AND adjusting the mattress height at the same time.

And the allen bolts on the sides, holding the front and back on--they're too high. You can't rotate an allen wrench completely around, which makes unscrewing the bolts difficult and tedious. It's a ridiculously poorly planned structure, and not user friendly at all.

While the crib IS lovely and it has served us well, I absolutely dread having to do any kind of adjustments or changes to it. I hate sheet-changing and trying to lift the mattress in or out. It's just a poorly designed crib as far as functionality goes.

DO NOT BUY THIS CRIB unless you buy the toddler convert rails with it! We bought strictly because it was convertible. Great trick since you can't get the rails after the fact! Been waiting six months! can't give it zero stars, so I have to give it one.

The crib is very beautiful and sturdy(Scratches very easily), however if you are buying it to convert as they advertise "Life time convertible crib" DO NOT BUY! It's impossible to order the conversion pieces. It takes months even a year to actually get the pieces. You can not order from baby cache either just babies r us. I have never had a good experience with ordering from babies r us. I ordered a high chair online and it said it was in stock and I would receive the item on a specific date. I did not get it on that date so I called BRUS and they said they didn't have them in stock and I was going to have to wait another month! They wouldn't refund the money so I could buy another one somewhere else so I had to wait. The ordering the CRIB pieces is WORSE! I am very upset with this product and customer service. If you just want it for the crib then its a good buy, but kind of pricey for just a crib. If you want it for a conversion crib DO NOT BUY!

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This bed is so beautiful, sturdy, easy to assemble. The best part is daughter hasn't figured out how to climb out of it!!! Make sure when picking it up at store to have a truck or moving van box is HUGE!!!!

We loved this crib from the moment we saw it. Very elegant, and the fact that
is a convertible crib helped us make our mind. As first time parents we did not know what to look for but if we had to do it again, I would buy the same exact crib. Easy to clean, Spacious, Sturdy besides beautiful. The Only down side is that when the time came to lower the mattress spring it wasn't easy to manipulate the brackets to push the mattress all the way down.

We love the crib/set because we love the color, it was easy to assemble and goes great for a boy or girl's room. We also love that it's convertible but we have to purchase the kits separately (which is the norm). We would definitely recommend this crib to others.
