These carter flannel pads are great. They withstand washing and remain soft and smoothe. I use them for the changing table and crib to avoid having to wash the changing table cover and sheets often. I have tried the white pads with the lamb print on them and they get dirty and fuzzy after one use. The material gets fuzzy, knots up, and leaves a bumpy uncomfortable surface. I also use the carter pads for changing diapers when we travel because they fold up easily and are soft.

This is a great product that I put on our crib mattress. My son has never peed through it, getting the mattress wet. The protection is great.
I'm giving it 4 out 5 stars b/c this has become a very difficult item to find. We're having our second child and had to purchase this online b/c 2 BRU stores near us didnt carry them.
Overall a great product and really does the job at saving the crib mattress.

We use cotton flannel & rubber pads like these for under mom post-partum, for the inevitable soaking that happens for a while when my milk comes, and just generally for under the baby in co-sleeping to catch diaper leaks/spit ups/and little milk dribbles. :-) In general cotton flannel & rubber pads are great. Unfortunately, I passed all the nice thick ones I used with my first two along to my sister. I have looked all over and they just don't make them that well or in the cute prints anymore (think the older gerber ones, etc.). I can only occasionally find them at garage sales.[...] These carter's ones are marginally better (still years better than the polyester/plastic ones, too) but too thin weight for the carter's reputation of quality. The supposedly 100% cotton material on the outsides of the rubber is also strange feeling, very pilly, and unravels (these are actually serged around the edges - which is very strange the older ones you can actually cut to size and don't unravel). Better than nothing, but I wish they'd bring back the good stuff!

Great to see large cotton flannel/rubberized pads available. But not the quality I was used to.

We are expecting our third child. When expecting my first, we bought/received many cotton flannel/rubberized pads. All in all they were very thick, easy to wash, and had the same comfortable feel as a well broken in pair of flannel pajamas. We found them useful in all sizes to keep crib sheets dry from both ends (babies are particularly wet people), also useful for tummy time, and so much more. Later when we discovered the family bed the big ones were great to lay baby on and prevent having to change the whole bed from small mishaps, great when mommy's milk comes in too.

Unfortunately my sister just had her first and we lent out the whole pile. I find these are very hard to find now. "Toys R Us" brand linens seem inferior to the name brand options in just about every product, so we chose to pay more for the Carter's pads. However I am disappointed that out of the packaging these are just not as nice as what I had. They are thinner, seem more stiff/plasticy, and strangely have serging/overlocking around the edges (the old ones had thick unfinished edges and could be trimmed to any size under the sun without any need for finishing or any unraveling), come with restricted washing instructions, and the print option is disappointing, a frog pattern or white, white, and more white. Even the most inane prints would help to hide the inevitable stains from use and make these more pleasant to live with. Who wants white? It looks like the bedding used in an institution and reminds you of their other uses sold by disability product stores.

We will see how they wash up with repeated use, but I'm disappointed. We got a small discontinued/clearanced by Toys R Us lap pad from Gerber at the same time and it seemed more like the old style, but we can't find any more or any bigger sizes. The word online seems to be that these have been hard to find for several years. I guess in the meantime I will be checking out garage sales, their prices are better anyway...

We use this for many things from naked time to getting our daughter dressed after the bath. It is great to travel with since it is waterproof. It has also been very useful when our daughter was sick. She was throwing up and I happened to be next to the pad and it saved my carpet. I've also put it in her crib when she was sick so we wouldn't have to change her bedding if she had an accident.
