Seriously, most of the seats on the market shouldn't even be able to refer to what they sell as a CAR seat, as most seem to need a larger sized SUV or minivan to even have a chance to fit it in rear-facing. Since I refuse to let a car seat manufacturer force me into a gas guzzling vehicle nor do I want to turn my son around early in order to make this work, I was THRILLED when I found this seat would work even in our tiny sports car.
My husband and I are both tall (over 6') so it was important to us that a rear-facing car seat fit with either of us still being able to sit in front of it. Depending on the vehicle, it's a bit tight at times, but at least we finally found a car seat that makes it even possible.

In terms of the infant seat, the buckle is better than the one on their shuttle33 infant seat, but it's still unfortunate that they make it so the 2 parts must come together before you can insert it. That might make it safer, but it's much harder to do with a squirming child.

The infant head insert is easy to adjust, but I'm still a bit confused on how I'm supposed to attach it once I need to move it higher. I figured something out, but it seems a bit odd that they didn't offer up any suggestions or comments in the user manual.

As for installation, I have leather seats that are slippery and the base of this is very rounded. I had to add 2 towels to get the level right, and even then, the seat kept trying to rotate as I installed it. This took me quite a while and I thought I was going to have to go buy a pool noodle to make it work, but after climbing into the seat I was able to finally pull on it and get close to the "less than 1" of wiggle side-to-side" requirement. (seriously, why can they not make the loop on the strap they give you for the latches actually large enough to get your whole hand in? pulling tight with 2 fingers is really hard to do!)

Finally, the rear-facing top tether is fantastic! Once I cinched that down, I lost all concern on whether I had gotten the other side tight enough. That strap removed any remaining wiggle I had in the installation and it now guarantees that the seat won't rotate on me and mess up the horizontal angle I'd worked so hard on. I've never seen anything like this before, but it's wonderful!

Thank you Combi for being the ONLY car seat manufacturer out there that realizes people in normal cars need car seats too!

I have a 2-door Toyota Solara and struggled with finding the right carseat. At first we bought a Evenflo Symphony and it was huge, bulky, heavy, and awkward in my car. So, I figured my husband could put it in his SUV and I'll find a smaller seat. I ordered the Combi Coccoro convertable seat and wow, what a difference! It is light, compact, and simple. It also seems much more comfortable for my baby. For example, the Evenflo buckle dug into his legs. The Combi has padding around the buckle and around the shoulders for a much cushier seat. We love it so much that we took back the Evenflo seat and will just tranfer the Combi into the SUV when needed (since is so lightweight and easy to install). It also isn't an eyesore like most seats. The cherry color makes it look cool & stylish. Love it!

I have two of these car seats, one for my smallish three year old and one we have used since my youngest was born 9 months ago.

The Great:
*Fit in any car, both work in my WRX with room for my 6 year old in the middle.
* They are very sturdy, not wiggly at all when installed with a seatbelt.
*Comfy! I drive a lot, and both boys love to ride in their seats.
* the new baby inserts work much better than the head stabalizers you can buy, and they don't move around.
* I have super sweaty kids, no problem at all with the fabric on these seats.
* every part is very well made. No fraying, fading, breaking, etc. on any of it. and this is with daily use for 18 months.

The not so great:
* it is fairly difficult to install the back facing seat, must slide your hand and the belt through a little slot while leaning over and catching it from the other side. It is very stable once it is buckled in though.
* after washing the covers three or four times, the colors are still lovely, but i notice the clips come off a bit more often.
*The interlocking bottom latch is impossible to close one handed. with four kids this can mean setting one in, running around and latching another, running back and finishing the first, etc. My husband feels it is worth it for the safety though.

I decided to purchase this car seat after much research. I take care of my three kids and two of my sisters. I carry three car seats for 4 days out of five. maxicosi infant seats were fine up until now. but I knew I would have problems with my five year old's booster seat and possibly two convertible car seats. we purchased two of these car seats not at babiesrus but at [@]( slightly cheaper), very pleased with purchase. it is very secure with rear facing belt lock off device for lap/shoulder belt for the middle rear seat and latch for the passenger side. love the tether. car seat doesn't even budge. feel so secure. my nephew is very tall for his age too. like to suggest to the parent who had a hard time with the lenghth of the belt, maybe use the last loop of the harness. the child would have to be extremely tall if the whole length of the harness was used and still did not fit in it, may not be safe to use the carseat. very well designed with storage pouches, looks very sleek

I researched strollers and carseats that will fit in my mini cooper, this carseat fits perfect. Not bulking like other carseats.Easy to install, matches the color of my mini too.

I haven't tested it out in the car yet, but so far I am excited to have gotten my hands on this seat! It has plenty of cushion, and it's not the size of a recliner! This seat is plenty big for my 9 month old, with lots of room to grow! I'm not sure why the one customer couldn't fit her child in this seat. The buckle is also easier to fasten than the infant seat we bought! So far, I am super pleased with my purchase!

I have an Acura RSX so I was immediately drawn to this car seat, especially with the vibrant colors. However, after reviewing the ratings I was concerned if it would be appropriate for a newborn. My daughter was brought home around 7 lbs and by adjusting the straps she fits snug in this car seat. I would recommend to anyone.

I bought this car seat when my son turned 6 months and became too tall for an infant car seat

It worked great till now, when he is 14 months old. The seat suppose to last up to 40 lbs, but my son in barely 22 lbs and the straps are way too short for him now. I have to replace this seat ASAP, because I no longer can buckle him in, even though I pulled the straps out all the way.

I just got this car seat through [...]online. I love the colors. The cushion is unbelievably soft and thick: I want to sit in it!! The whole seat is well cushioned. It definitely seems safe and baby is well buckled in. It truly is compact as advertised. My 2 1/2 year old is able to fit in it with no problems and obvious room for growth so I was impressed with that. I was skeptical that the seat would be too compact but my worries are over. The pocket storage spaces are nice also. I'm so excited about this purchase! I think I hit a winner!! Hope others enjoy. The directions and safety warnings are well written also. Do read all the instructions, you will learn something.

I have a small car and this carseat is perfect in size and not to bulky. The padding is very soft. My daughter loves it.
