These are simple and that is all we needed. They are a bit difficult to install because 1. the sticky stuff they come with to hold up till screwed does not stay put 2. the screws are hard to twist in. We had to mark the holes and use a drill to make a pilot hole then screwed them in by hand. If you line them up properly they work very well. Could not use on our drawers though because there wasn't enough clearance for our fingers to release it.

We put these on both cabinet doors and drawers. We decided to try these 1st because they were inexpensive and we needed over 20. They were fairly easy to install but time consuming. And within a couple of days our 1 year old figured out how to open these, but even before he figured out how to open them they were quite annoying because when they locked they still allowed cabinets to open about 1-2 inches-therefore alot of banging ensued while my son was trying to open doors.(He soon thought it was a game) My son is always on the move so after about 2 weeks he decided the extra 2 seconds it took to open the doors was too long so one by one he broke them all off.

Complete garbage

Comments about Safety 1st Spring & Release Latch - 3 Pack:

These locks are complete garbage. It's a shame because the actual materials used are OK, and they're easy to install, but the design is attrociously bad. It's impossible to adjust so that it latches properly AND also closes without having to push it down (like every other safety lock on the planet). I simply threw them out instead of wasting even more time returning them.

        Fail

Comments about Safety 1st Spring & Release Latch - 3 Pack:

Product failure. Broke 3 screws while installing with pilot holes drilled. I have only seen a handful of screws twist break and those that I have seen had massive amounts of torque applied. These broke far to easily and I think that they should either change the mounting hardware or recall the product all together.

Comments about Safety 1st Spring & Release Latch - 3 Pack:

Installing them is quite time consuming but not hard. The problem is that there isn't enough space to get your fingers in there to hit the latch. My wife and I are both around 6' tall and thin, it's not like we have fat or short fingers. But the picture is misleading, you don't have that much space to get your fingers in until after it's already open of course, we have to use butter knives, pens, etc. on these latches.

Horrible product. While my husband was installing them he broke one - that should've been our first clue how bad these were. Then a half hour later I went to open a cabinet, forgetting that they were on there, and we have another broken one on our hands. It's not like I'm the Hulk and have super strength, I literally opened the cabinet and it snapped off. Looks like the search continues...

My 14 month old took about a month to figure out how to work the press-down latch. These are garbage and a potential risk to your children if you assume they can't operate them.

Tried to attach a vidoe showing my 14 month old operating it, but Baby's R Us *was experiencing and error* LOL!

                Scammers!

1+ year olds can break these easily. They can also use their fingers to work the screws loose enough to turn enough to open...then when they are done my boys move the piece back to the lock position. They are 1 and 2 years old. If you are going to fasten something like this, use something else...you will only end up replacing cabinet covers after just a few years of maintaining these locks.

If you have half a brain that can read instructions and can align properly, these are great. If you cant screw in a screw or visibly cant align items correctly, then don't bother. They seldom need to be re-tightened/readjusted but otherwise excellent.

Wish I would have read the reviews first. They are actually worse than they appear to be on here. Installation was difficult. The screws broke repeatedly trying to screw them in. When they did manage to hold up, they didn't keep the latches in place, so you had to constantly try and re-adjust them. The latches were easily pulled apart after even just a few uses.
