Until now my daughter has not had an interest in opening the toilet but this morning I got out of the shower and her sleeves were wet. GROSS!! Normally I research things and read reviews and such but I was so grossed out that I went out and bought the only toilet lock I could find. This one.

I was pleasantly surprised that the intall was fairly easy but serious disappointed when the seat would not stay up. I am returning this product.

I was sure this product was going to be great, but come to find out, like other reviewers, the lid wouldn't stay up when going to the bathroom. It was very easy to install though, and has a very sleek look. I just wish it would've worked for us.

I've used the other models that latch on the rim--disgusting. They worked ok but grossed me out so when I saw this, I had to try it. It only took me 5 minutes to install since you simply thread it through the same bolt that holds the seat onto the toilet. Adjusting it took a few more minutes and then it was perfect. Simple, one-hand push of a button to open and push down to lock. The box says it's for STANDARD toilets which I have and it fits perfectly. My 3 year old can operate it and lock it keeping my 14 month old out of the toilet for good.If your boys drive you nuts with slamming the seat/lid, pick up the whisper-close toilet seat by Mayfair. A bit pricey, I paid [$] but it is a GOD SEND. Just start the seat or lid closing about 2 inches and the hydraulics within the hinge close it slowly and silently. You'll love it!

great product. tried several other clunky toilet seat locks and none of them were as elegant or worked as well as this one. i understand the bad remarks regarding the toilet seat not staying up, but for my two toilets they just manage to stay up. there is some play/adjustability because the holes on the toilet lock are a bit larger than the toilet seat screws, so you just have to push the toilet lock as far to the back of the toilet that it will go, and the seat should stay up. at least with my toilets it worked. otherwise, i find that these toilet seat locks work GREAT. easy to unlock (but obviously child-proof) and easy to lock, just let it drop and it locks by itself. Great, efficient design. super easy installation. A+ from me.

Seriously easy to install, works perfectly on my small toilet. I was so skeptical after reading reviews, but figured i would give it a shot after using the other one BRU carries at a friend's house and being completely annoyed by it. This works great, took less than 5 minutes to install. no complaints!

My husband and I put this on our standard toilet, which the package says it fits. Sure it fit, but I don't want to have to hold the lid up while I use the restroom. What a horrible design!

Having not read the directions, it took me a minute to figure out just how to install. Lock comes with attachments to allow for proper height. The release button has to be pushed with some force, which keeps my 2.5 year old out. It's not in the toilet but on it so cleaning is a breeze. Love it, got to have it, have told everyone about it.

We purchased this because our 14 month old will not stay away from the toilets. My husband installed it, but it didn't work correctly with either of our toilets. You could not use the toilet without holding up the lid. We returned it and purchased a cheaper one at the Babies R Us store. It works much better and was easier to install.

It is a good product for keeping my 18 month old son out of the toilet. But as for the lid itself staying up, it doesn't. You have to balance yourself because the lid rests against your backside. I had read on another site for this that the lock works best if you have an elongated toilet because there's more room. It's an ok product, but doesn't work right for our toilet.
