Purchased for 4th grandson (in less than 2 yrs!) when he was 16 mos old. We were going to SeaWorld with his 3yo bro & 27 mo old boy cousin (who had no trouble alternating with riding in strollers and handholding) and newborn baby girl cousin (in a carrier). Mama had been against the idea of harnesses in the past but this child who would run off in the blink of an eye changed her mind. When I found ELMO who was NOT A BACKPACK like others BUT COULD BE ON HIS TUMMY! with a little zippered pouch to hold his extra pacifier, I knew we'd all be happy. Admittedly it DOES take a little time to INITIALLY figure out how to put the straps on, but once they are adjusted, it's like a carseat. You just slip the child's arms into it. It is now a habit for my grandson whenever they go somewhere that he'll be walking, and he has the freedom to explore rather than being tied down to a seat for the duration. Much happier

The only harness I've found that put the toy on the front where my daughter can play with it. The leash snaps on and off the back. She feeds Elmo and hugs him and when she falls asleep on my shoulder he acts as a pillow. If you can ignore the glare from others because your kid is on a leash I think it works fabulous!

We also haven't had any of the mishaps with the velcro that others have mentioned, and my 17 month old is 33 pounds of pure force!

My son loves Elmo so what better way than to put Elmo on a harness. Fantastic! My son is also very strong and the velcro is just as strong to hold if he pulls. Yea... He's a track star so its so needed. I feel secure that my boy won't go too far from me. Totally going to get another one for the baby seeing as she'll be walking soon also. Two in diapers... So needed! All good parents concerned for the safety of their child should get one.

I love this harness. I have asturdy 20 month boy and in the months we've had it's held up well. The velcro holds really really well although it will release if my son tugs REALLY HARD. It even went through the washer ok. I love that he can go in his carset with it still on since it isn't bulky like a backpack. This means I can have him in arm's reach while I'm putting bags in the car. He also gets a measure of independence in the store but I can grab him back. All in all we've been very please with this product.

This elmo leash is a great idea, my little cousin, Gabrielle, she's 2 and a handful. She don't like to sit in the stroller or hold hands. and its hard to get her under controll. shes picked this out while we were getting her brother some bottles, and she loves it, its great to have around if you have a younger child who dont want to listen and likes to run off, it lets you know that they are arms reach from you, and can do their own thing. People on the street look at you like you're crazy, but crazy is far from how i feel while my cousin is secure on this leash. I feel safer to take her out and not worry about her running off.
we went to the beach, and took this in the ocean with her so she wouldn't run off, and walked her with it on the boredwalk and she got nowhere. it was fun and she loves her elmo (:

I purchased this item today so that I could have my daughter attached to me through the airport. My husband and I tested it out and the velcro came undone with only a slight pull. I'm taking this back and exchanging it today.

Straps didnt hold well, my son loves elmo...and if you're child likes elmo they'll be pleased by the site of this toy. But it is poorly made and a waste of money.

I bought the elmo 4 days ago firstoval my son got very exited when he saw the elmo. It's very safe and very good product. People who say bad comments maybe they don!t know how to fix curectly on the babes shoulders. Whoevers idea was to make the elmo face, that was a very excellent idea because my son dousn!t refuse to wear it, he is enjoying! Thank You ELMO you helped me! I can go walking with my son.

My son loves to carry Elmo like a baby. Velcro has been very substantial so far. Took a minute to figure out how to put it on him.

The harness does not stay attached. I was on crutches for several weeks and needed a way to keep my two year old close and under control while walking through a parking lot to daycare. The velcro becomes unattached easily. When he would pull away and I held the harness tight, the velcro would always pull apart. It does not provide security. This is not a safe product.
