I purchased these mitts expecting them to fit my newborn, who is a pretty big boy. The mitts are VERY loose, and one was stitched backwards so that the bow is on the inside of one mitt and on the outside of another. I saw other reviews here that said the same thing. Also, one mitt's elastic band was WAY looser than the other. Now that my baby is older, they have a little better chance of staying on, but the looser mitt still flies off. The stitching is coming undone and he's only worn them about 5 times. Not very high quality at all...
I would only buy them in store where you can check them out for the quality.

I had a hard time deciding which mittens might be big enough for my 3.5 month old from product descriptions, so here you go. They say on the packaging that it is for 0-3 months (some of the newborn mitten products are advertised to be only for the first few weeks of birth). They do run larger than newborn mittens. They work great on our baby (3.5 months old but he is smaller than average). I prefer a looser elastic band so that I know it's not pinching him. To help keep them on, you can tuck them into tighter long sleeves, but our houdini can chew and pull his way out of them. From top to bottom they are 4.5". The length from top stitching to elastic band is a little over 3" of hand room. At its widest point the width is about 3" but measuring from the inside stitching it is about 2.5" across.

Giving it 4 stars because it is what I expected; basic cotton mittens with an elastic band. It could be my imagination but one elastic band feels a little tighter than the others, so there might be some quality inconsistency.

does it's job by keeping nails from scratching face however they are almost to big and there is a decorative little bow that concerns me could come off if baby was to chew on it. overall an ok product just wish they fit his hands a bit better.

I know it's important to have organic fabrics, etc. in your baby's mouth, but these wouldn't stay on a baby of any age, much less a newborn! The two pair were totally different wrist circumferences, both of which were way too big for any baby. I was so peeved with the product that I took them back to the store and demanded my money back. Then we went and got some regular ones from Carter's. Stay on much better, although I'm not sure there is a perfect product.

I was looking for mitts that would work for my 2 month old when I came across these and read the previous reviewer's comment. My baby boy has found his hands but sometimes misses his mouth and scratches his face. These mitts are soft, cute and so far are the only ones that don't fly off minutes after I put them on him.

I needed mitts for my 2-month-old b/c he was scratching his face. Other mitts were too small and would easily come off. These are a perfect fit, soft, and neutral-colored. I'm planning on buying another set!

I was really excited about using these as they are organic as well as functionable. Unfortunately, they are too big for her little hands and fall off immediately. By the time her hands will fit, she won't be a newborn anymore and I won't have to worry about her scratching her face. I just swaddle her instead to keep her hands down.
