I bought these because they reduce colic and spit-up and come bpa free. I wanted the best of course. But here is a bit I wish I had known first. Wait to buy a colic bottle until you have your bundle in your arms if your baby does not have colic, acid reflux or any issuse with excessive spit-ups save your self the time and money. My son for the first three months needed the help of a vented bottle but after that he was fine and most children grow out of colic after several months. Long before they get to the 8oz point. These are very expensive and a total pain to clean. The back vent if not cleaned could easily grow funk and I found I needed to serilize after each cleaning out of conceren for areas on the bottle I could not see (like in the tubes). They do leak because of the vents, so trips could be a little tricky, you only have to have one leak in your bag before your taking all the precautions. Which means an extra bag of part as the bottle must only be assemble right before use to insure no spill in your diaper bag or purse. If you need a bottle to reduce spit ups or colic they are a blessing but my advice wait to see befor you spend [$] on a bottle that you spend a ton of time cleaning. I would rather be playing with my little man. As for the when the baby starts holding the bottle the leaking will soak them until the bottle is mostly gone. Dr browns are far better than borne free as I did use both, plus dr b's come in glass, regular, bpa free, long or wide neck. So there is a wide range to choose from. I do love the nipple and the levels but even for an eight month old the threes and four levels can over whelm the baby. Good luck!

While there are great reason to use this bottle, I find that they constantly leak! I would prefer to use them for night time feedings since I did not want to disturb my baby and burp her, however it is more disturbing to find how much they leak and having to change her p.j.'s in the middle of the night because she would be soaked in formula, making night time feedings more of a hassle. Plus the cleaning of each piece as I am constantly cleaning bottles!

Comments about Handi Craft Dr Brown's BPA Free 4 Ounce Polypropylene Bottles:

This is the only bottle that my daughter will drink from. With others the flow would be too fast even with a slow flow nipple. She would choke and cry not to mention that the milk would end up all over her chin.

The only issue I have with this bottle is that there are too many parts. Otherwise it's a good bottle.

Comments about Handi Craft Dr Brown's BPA Free 4 Ounce Polypropylene Bottles:

Dr Browns are the best bottles ever! I recommend getting the 4 oz bottles to help them learn to hold it. I started with the 8 oz hoping to save money since I would eventually need them and my baby is 8 months and still can't hold the bottle untill I bought this one!

Comments about Handi Craft Dr Brown's BPA Free 4 Ounce Polypropylene Bottles:

This bottle has been a lifesaver. My newborn has had a pretty big issue with reflux, so when I needed to pick a bottle I went with the bottles we use at work in the NICU. I totally understand why we use these bottles at work now because so far they're the only bottles that have kept her from throwing up after every bottle feeding.

We tried out several bottles for my baby: the Advent bottles, Platex for Nursing and the tommy tipees and my daughter would not eat off those bottles. She loves using the Dr Brown's bottles and her gas is reduced at least by 50% when she uses this bottle.

Though these bottles can be a pain to clean they are the best to prevent gas/colic. Babies get such little air that it can take a while for them to even burp after using this bottle. My staple!

Great bottle. I bought the preemie nipples which really helped my daughter get used to drinking from a bottle. We tried 2 other bottles but the flow was too fast for her. This bottle was a life saver as I am going back to work and my daughter will have to drink from the bottle.

I tried this bottle along with 5 other kinds because my baby did not like the bottles that we originally registered for (Avent). She didn't hate the Dr. Brown's as much as some of the others, but she didn't love it any more than the Playtex Ventaire. Since the Ventaire has less parts and is easier to clean, we went with that over Dr. Brown's.
