The Mini Glider is a balance bike that teaches children how to balance - the important first step in riding a bike. First kids "walk" the bike by pushing with alternating feet, then lift one foot and then two, until they are confidently gliding and balancing. Glide Bikes are U.S.-designed with mountain bike geometry, giving your child a lower center of gravity for more stability and safer balancing. No pedals or training wheels to get in the way.

Invented by Ed, a father and avid cyclist who saw the need for a learning bike with superior construction and design, the Mini Glider has been road tested by Ed's own children to ensure that the product meets all design and quality requirements, and most importantly, that it's fun! The lightweight alloy frame is easy to maneuver and the foot pegs give kids a great way to glide. The quick-release seat clamp makes height adjustments easy, handlebars adjust for proper arm alignment, and the easy-to-use handbrake is sized just right for small hands. There is minimal assembly and all Glide Bikes are covered by a lifetime warranty! Cool "Glide Bikes Kid" graphics adorn the frame and the handlebar cover. Children love to glide so much that they will continue to ride their Mini Glider long after they're riding a pedal bike!

I've had this bike for nearly 3 years and I can tell you it is incredibly durable. It lives in the trunk of my car when not in use, and is constantly sandwiched between luggage, strollers, etc. It is as good as new! The tires are foam so they never need inflating (I can't overstate what a wonderful feature that is!). And most importantly, my daughter loves this bike. She is extremely cautious, so when she is on a pedal bike, the moment she gets nervous she stops pedaling, which slows her down, which makes her lose balance. With this bike if she gets nervous, she touches her foot to the ground and has the option of going faster, so she gets the chance to actually EXPERIENCE that speed = balance, which kids just don't believe until they try it. With the hand brake plus the simple fact that the ground is always within reach, she feels in control. Also, the bike is incredibly light, so she's not scared of the bike itself. Most 16" pedal bikes actually outweigh her!

My girls both received glider bikes as a Christmas gift this past year. Within two months, both my FOUR year old and FIVE year old were riding their regular two-wheeler bikes to school, nearly a mile away!! It did my older daughter a little longer to get the hang of it, but she's more cautious by nature. I absolutely swear by these bikes, and would highly recommend to anyone! Training wheels really make no sense after you see these bikes in action!!

Bought bike for 3 year olds birthday present. Still sits in the garage, and hasn't been touched. Should have just got the bike with training wheels that she could actually ride. Pink bike is super cute though.

After researching ways to teach my daughter how to ride a bike I discovered Balance bikes. Reading thought the reviews I decided to get a metal one and the Mini Glider kept coming up as the most well thought out feature rich learning bike. After receiving it we were not disappointed. My Daughter loved the cool metallic pink color right out of the box. After a quick assembly with the included tool she was off to the races , within an hour she was balancing. I could not believe how quickly she was able to ride it around the driveway and how proud she was. The key is in the mountain bike geometry that allows the bike to balance at slower speed than other designs. By slowing down the balance point my daughter was able to test trying to lift one foot at a time until she got the sensation of balance.
I highly recommend this product to any child.
