does not stay together. when putting together and trying to snap the bricks in other spots just fall apart. does not stay together. i have lots of lego items this knock off sucks

My son received this as a Christmas gift and we all thought it was a great set seeing as how he loves anything police and fire truck related. Unfortunately over half the blocks were missing and of the ones we had over half of those were crooked and didn't fit right. The fire truck constantly fell apart leading my son to be extremely frustrated. It caused a lot of meltdowns because nothing was working. I have had a lot of experience with building blocks/Legos because I have younger brothers but this is by far the worst. It took over 2 hours just to build the fire truck but it fell apart the minute I gave it to my son. The other bad part is the colors were all off. The red blocks were 5 different shades of red and the same with the blue. The price is great for 1000 pieces but it has been nothing but a pain since we got it. I am waiting on the company to get back to me about replacing the set. (My son was so excited for it he tore the box apart making it impossible to return to the store)

I am amazed with the bad reviews on this, my 5 year old absolutely adores this set! I haven't had any problems with pieces not sticking together or anything falling apart and I felt the instructions were very self explanatory although definitely not something my son could comprehend by himself but I wasn't expecting him to on his own...it was quite fun building together anyway.
Maybe we were just really lucky to get a good set but we're currently browsing this site looking for the next set to buy. I highly recommend it!

My son has spent hours assembling away. I compared the lego brand to best-lock and there isn't much difference but the color. My son says that lego brand people don't have noses and best-lock little people do. He had not difficulty putting them together. He has built with legos for years and would tell me if it didn't work. The price is great if you are on a budget and your child loves legos. I will buy again!

Unfortunately I have to share the opinion found in both previous reviews. Some blocks just wont work (poor production-quality control) and even if you mange to put a model (car, plane etc) together - it will fall apart after few minutes of play.
Do not have experience with LEGO so cannot compare but BEST LOCK product can be really disappointing. The price is good but it seems you get what you pay for.
Recommend buying a super glue along with this product :)

I bought this set for my son for Christmas it seemed like you got alot for your money but like with most things you get what you pay for. Parts were molded wrong and didnt stay together very well if at all. Like the other reviews anytime my son touched it it fell apart. I am going to super glue them together so that this wont happen. It sad that I have to go to this extreme. With real Legos sometimes they fit so well its a problem prying them apart.

We received a set of Best Lock bricks as a present when our oldest son was five. We started referring to them as the "frustrating Legos" to distinguish them from the real Legos. These bricks were very difficult to put together. It hurt grownup fingers to assemble the model. Every time my son drove the fire truck or moved a piece on it, the whole model would pop apart. The models are cute, but that just makes the disappointment worse when the pieces don't work!
