This game is great, if you are a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series( GTA III and newer) than this game is for you. It has the same concept when your not on a mission you can roam freely and do what you will, the side missions are ok, nothing unbelievable but decent. The storyline is well done, the only downside of the game is the combos sometimes interfere with eachother. Other than that one of the best games to come out in a long time. The movement of Alex is one of the best parts of the game whether it is Parkour, flying or running and jumping it is awesome. The gore is outstanding which is why it is not meant for anyone under 17. Great game, definetly worth the money.

Got this for my son and he absolutely loves this! I've had a dry run with games lately and was elated this one was a winner. Great graphics- fabulous game.

What can I say about PROTOTYPE? Most of the reviews that you will see are either full of support or full of hatred for the game. There really isn't any middle ground, which raises some red flags in my mind. If you are deciding whether to purchase this game, my consensus is that it is worth every penny of the "price of admission!" This game is so much fun that it should be illegal. Alex Mercer is down right the most over-the-top avenger character that I have ever "played!" Gameplay is tight, with the perfect amount of upgrades at your disposal in exchange for the games currency – (EP) Evolution points, which are earned by completing missions and killing baddies. When upgraded, Alex will have the means to "glide" around this sandbox version of New York City, making it quick and fun to get to your next mission. Combat is fluid at first, then it gets choppy, but as you adapt to the learning curve, it changes back its fluidity.
Finally, the gore level in the game truly deserves its M ratting, as Alex has many different methods of slicing, dicing, smashing, impaling and stabbing his enemies or even a human or two that gets in the way. This bloody dance leads to an artistic ballet which covers the screen with Alex's victims! To top it off, he can hijack military combat choppers and tanks. The storyline of PROTOTYPE plays out perfectly, as a man who has been robbed of his memory, infected with a powerful virus, which won't stop until he finds the answers he seeks. I removed one "star" from the critic for the games side missions, which feels like a waste of time as it displaces you from the story and also for gaining upgrades to quickly in the game, which renders the evolution points useless with nothing to spend them on. With this being my only two complaints, in no way do they hinder this game from being a powerful and fun experience. PROTOTYPE is a "must buy!"

It was an incredible game! It had a lot of endless features that you can use to your advantage. The free play is really fun and you never know what you are going to encounter. I really enjoyed how you could interact with your surroundings.[...] The storyline was intersting and you were constantly finding clues to help lead you who you really are. I liked the vehicles and how unrealistic they were. The consuming the other humans was a little bit wierd. It made the gameplay more interesting and helped you blend in with the others around you. Alex mercer's fighting powers were pretty awesome. There are many upgrades to help you throughout the game that you may buy with experience points. The only annoying part were the big infected creatures that look like hairless apes. Overall the game was incredible!!!! BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!
