My daughter wanted to put the make up on her like stated on box and commercial. The make up is always on I have to put very very hot water on her to make it go away and then I have 3-4 sec til it appears again. My daughter wants to put the ice brush on her face to apply the make up and it just plain does not work. I do not know if our was broken or if they are ALL like this. NOT HAPPY

This was the 1st doll my 3 yr old has gotten that was suposed to have easy on and off makeup. My daughter was very upset when the makeup wouldn't work, as was I.
I really like the size of the doll and she smells great! I was a BIG fan of Strawberry short cake when I was little and her wonderful smell took me back to my childhood!

My daughter received this doll for Christmas-it was "the toy" that she wanted! What a DISAPPOINTMENT! Upon opening it, we followed the directions of freezing the pen, etc. Well, the directions should have told you to use a warm cloth & wipe the "make-up" off 1st. We tried for a 1/2 hr. to get the "make-up" to change. Finally I tried a warm cloth, which removed the "make-up", but then the pen never really made the "make-up" reappear. The colors are so faint & the strawberry on the cheek doesn't even completely show up. Only about half of it actually came back!
The doll itself is cute & well made, but the barettes don't stay clipped & are very hard for a 3 yr. old to clip themselves. I wish that I had a better review for this doll, but really save your $! Hasbro was more than happy to refund my money, though, so I can let my daughter choose something else!

My daughter likes strawberry shortcake- even plays with my old ones from when I was little. So she was excited to get this doll as a present for christmas. She wanted to put the make up on- but the strawberry on the cheek would not come off at all. We cannot use the makeup because it never comes off to begin with. I am very disappointed. Should return it -

My 4 year old really likes her, but its true as some other reviewers have stated that its virtually impossible to get the makeup off as the directions state. I rubbed the makeup areas with a warm washcloth and the makeup never came off. However, my daughter's bright idea to like the dolls face really worked!! haha... Liking the doll's face gets the makeup off beautifully! Who would've thought!

My daughter got this for her birthday. The doll is very cute. She smells great and her hair brushes easily, however, the make up doesn't work so well. You have to freeze the makeup pen and then wait for it to thaw to get cold water. When my daughter tries to put the makeup on her, it hardly shows up. Only half of the strawberry on her cheek ever appears, and that is VERY faint. The lips hardly change at all. If your child wants a Strawberry Shortcake doll, she's great, but if she wants a Makeup doll, this is not the one for you.

My 3 year old loves this doll, she's very cute, but the box says the eye makeup and strawberry are supposed to disappear and they don't. So she can't play with the makeup at all. I'm going to have to exchange it for another doll

My 3 year old loves this doll! She kept asking for Strawberry Shortcake at bed time so we went out and got this. The doll smells really good and her hair is very soft and an awesome reddish-pink color. The "make-up" is cool too because it's just ice/water, great for little kids who make messes. I think my daughter's favorite thing is the hair clips. Not to wear them, just to carry them around because she's in a collecting stage.

The only problems I have are with the make-up and the hair clip staying power. The box shows Strawberry Shortcake with light pink eyeshadow, but it's actually a bright pink like the pictures here. I just this it's too bright, even for a doll. The hair clips aren't very strong so if you child is small be prepared for repeated cries of, "Help, Strawberry's hair!"
