My daughter got this as a gift when she was about 8-10 weeks old from another first time/brand new mommy that had gotten hers as a gift for her newborn son. After getting so frustrated with an expensive Restoration Hardware Mobile that matched both her bedding and crib (but was useless), this gift was a godsend! Our mobile, although beautiful, played maybe a 60 second song and in no way lit up but this piano just calmed my daughter instantly and would keep her sleeping longer and then instead of waking up and crying she would wake up to play in her crib and I would go into her nursery to a smiley face rather than tears!! The lights help in the dark and I swear the music will not stop until she is out!! Then if she touches it even slightly it goes on again and it puts her back to sleep.
My husband and I are expecting our second baby, a boy, in January and this will be my first toy purchase for him because she is in no way ready to part with hers!!
BUY IT!!!!

I wish it played single notes, so baby could make his own music. Instead what happens is he kicks, it starts playing a song, he kicks again, and it interrupts that song and starts another. And this just keeps happening. It's really annoying to hear. It only finishes a song if he stops kicking, and I don't see how that encourages kicking.

As it is, my 5-month-old will kick 5-10 minutes (and he's enjoying himself) and then he's done. But he likes it, so 3 stars it is.

I had bought this toy used when my son was about 6 months old, but I wish I would have had it from birth. He loves listening to the music as he is falling asleep and he enjoying making it play when he wakes up in the morning also. Listening to his piano play is part of his typical nightly routine now.

Our daughter loves this! She loves the characters and the sensitivity of the keys is perfect to encourage kicking. Only complaint is that we have it in her pack & play and had to pin it to mesh siding since it only provides tie-ons. So far it has held on fine (we've had it for 4months now) but I wish there was another way to attach it..

I love the concept, however the volume is far too quiet to actually stimulate my little one. I purchased it so he could get a response for all the kicking he does, but he is more interested when he kicks my hands and I make noises.

It is a great idea but I would rather have something my son can hear. It is so quite you have to strain to hear the piano. This product needs a louder volume option. I will be returning this item.

I purchased this for my 6 month old son. He is now 9 months and is still loving it! I know some people complain that it isn't loud enough...but I think it would be aweful to wake up to the sound of your baby playing with a loud toy on the baby monitor every morning, wouldn't you? It is at a very peaceful sound setting and keeps the baby entertained for a long time. I also thought it was made very nicely...a well quality cloth material as opposed to plastic material.

My daughter is 5 months. I wish I'd had this since birth! We use this all over the house. It's a good product. It takes a lot of abuse and it seems really sturdy. Plays several songs. We can put it in the crib, the pack-n-play, or even just set it on the table to play music and keep my daughter entertained while we feed her. When she's in the crib with it, she can kick it and make music by herself. And she LOVES the red and yellow lights that blink while the music plays. I really wish I'd had this since her birth. Also, the music is not too annoying for the parents, in my opinion. And it has 2 volume settings.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Favorite Toy

This piano has been a favorite of my grandson's since I started taking care of him when he was 3 months old. Then I used it for bedtime music. Now that he is almost two years old, he loves to take it out of the toy bin and play the music or make up his own songs.
