I bought this chair for my second baby after being unhappy with a more traditional wooden rocking chair & footstool that just wasn't comfortable enough for middle-of-the-night nursing. I wanted a trim, modern rocker/recliner that would fit in a small bedroom without a separate footstool.

This chair mostly lived up to my expectations based on the reviews I had read on this site. I took a gamble ordering the sage and it is a lovely pale green, with just a hint of yellow. I wanted a neutral color but the other colors were either too light or too dark. The sage definitely looks darker and greener in the web photo than it does in real life. It looks great in my pale green safari-themed baby room.

The chair is extremely comfortable and the fabric is very soft. When you first sit down the cushion seems very high at first but you literally sink into it. The chair is not what I would call "streamlined" - I have seen much trimmer ones - although it is smaller than a similar La-Z-Boy that I looked at. The nice thing about it is that it doesn't lean too far back when it reclines, so you can have it pushed up pretty close to a wall. I do like the clean, modern lines without sacrificing comfort.

The recline feature is activated with a lever tucked into the inside of the chair arm, not on the outside as pictured. My only complaint is that the lever is a bit hard to access and it is difficult to get the footrest back into its original position. You have to push it down with your legs and move the lever at the same time, locking it back into place. I have not yet completely mastered this motion and am a little worried about trying to get out of the chair while holding a sleeping baby. Hopefully I will get the hang of it in time.

Also, a warning: it is EXTREMELY heavy and awkward and you will have to move it yourself! The box will not fit through a standard door. I was disappointed that the shipper would not bring the chair into my house for me, especially considering how much we paid for shipping. My husband and I had a heck of a time getting it upstairs - and me 8 months pregnant! I would think that a company that sells baby furniture to expecting parents would use a shipper that would get the furniture into your house for you.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
