Product Description

Enfamil D-Vi-Sol Vitamin Drops are Vitamin D supplement drops, essential for all breastfed infants. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends using a vitamin D supplement for exclusively and partially breastfed babies because of low average levels of vitamin D in breast milk, your baby's doctor may recommend Enfamil D-Vi-Sol drops.

Founded over 100 years ago by Edward Mead Johnson, one of the original founders of Johnson and Johnson, the Mead Johnson company produces more than 70 different products that are distributed in over 50 countries worldwide. Mead Johnson produces baby formula, vitamin and specialty nutritional supplements including Enfamil. Introduced in 1959, Enfamil baby formula has undergone several significant changes since it was invented. Each change brings Enfamil baby formula nutritionally closer to breast milk.

Edward Mead founded Mead Johnson because he wanted to make products to help people live healthier lives. After much research, Edward Mead and his son Lambert discovered a way to manufacture nutrient-rich baby food formula for infants who didnt have access to breast milk. This eventually became Enfamil baby formula.

Mead Johnson's global operations center and U.S. regional office is located in Evansville, Indiana.

Great Product! My daughter's pediatrician suggested this since I am exclusively breast feeding her. I have been giving it to her since she was 1 week old, and I have absolutely no complaints. She loves the taste, and it doesn't stain. Would definitely recommend if you are exclusively breast feeding.

I used this for my exclusively breastfed baby because it was recommended by her doctor. I was happy to give her these drops because my daughter never seemed to mind the taste. However, I just read the ingredients on the bottle and I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! It contains Artificial Ingredients and Artificial Coloring... and Preservatives. I chose to breastfeed my daughter because I wanted her to have the best nutrition possible. I feel the D-Vi-Sol has interfered with my efforts (I now have to live with the fact that for 5 months straight my daughter was fed Glycerin, Polysorbate 80, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hydroxide, Artificial Flavor, Artificial Caramel Color). Never again will I trust the opinion of the Dr. without checking it out for myself. How can this be #1 recommended brand? I will now be purchasing vitamin D drops without any of these unnecessary chemicals. I hope to see this change in the future for Enfamil, but until then I will no longer be a customer

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil D-Vi-Sol Vitamin Drops 50 ml:

Very disappointed with the newdosing syringe. Now we have to make sure to keep the syringe with the bottle and worry about keeping it clean which is very inconvenient. Enfamil claims that the new syringe is to improve dodging accuracy but there was really no issue with the old dropper. It seems more likely that it was a cost cutting measure. It also seemed deceitful that there was no way to tell from the packaging that the dropper was no longer included. We will look for another brand next time.

Faithful user for the last year and now very disappointed with the new dosing syringe. I'd been keeping my last dropper and transferring it to the new bottles, but accidentally threw it away. New syringe is very inconvenient for making our morning bottle. Will be looking for a new brand to try.

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil D-Vi-Sol Vitamin Drops 50 ml:

We switched to another brand because these enfamil drops are nearly impossible to give to a breastfed baby who is too young to have foods and doesn't take bottles. In the dosing instructions, it suggests mixing the product with food, formula or breastmilk "to increase your child's acceptance." I called enfamil about the added caramel coloring that is listed in the ingredients and was told that is also "to increase the child's acceptance". A newborn baby doesn't care what color the drops are, but they surely don't need added coloring. Other brands are available that include only cholecalciferol (vitamin D) and olive oil, and for those the dose is literally a single drop, which is easy for baby to suck right from mom's nipple or from a finger tip. This enfamil product is terrible - the smell, the taste, the color, the large dropper full that is the recommended dose, the extra ingredients, etc. I can think of nothing good to say about it.

I've been happy with this product since my son was born two years ago. Now I see the integrated dropper has been replaced with a separate syringe. So now I have to have a much more complicated prep and wash a syringe every night? No thanks.
