Product Description

Enfamil D-Vi-Sol Vitamin Drops are Vitamin D supplement drops, essential for all breastfed infants. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends using a vitamin D supplement for exclusively and partially breastfed babies because of low average levels of vitamin D in breast milk, your baby's doctor may recommend Enfamil D-Vi-Sol drops.

Founded over 100 years ago by Edward Mead Johnson, one of the original founders of Johnson and Johnson, the Mead Johnson company produces more than 70 different products that are distributed in over 50 countries worldwide. Mead Johnson produces baby formula, vitamin and specialty nutritional supplements including Enfamil. Introduced in 1959, Enfamil baby formula has undergone several significant changes since it was invented. Each change brings Enfamil baby formula nutritionally closer to breast milk.

Edward Mead founded Mead Johnson because he wanted to make products to help people live healthier lives. After much research, Edward Mead and his son Lambert discovered a way to manufacture nutrient-rich baby food formula for infants who didnt have access to breast milk. This eventually became Enfamil baby formula.

Mead Johnson's global operations center and U.S. regional office is located in Evansville, Indiana.

Great Product! My daughter's pediatrician suggested this since I am exclusively breast feeding her. I have been giving it to her since she was 1 week old, and I have absolutely no complaints. She loves the taste, and it doesn't stain. Would definitely recommend if you are exclusively breast feeding.

I got this from my pharmacy to use on my newborn who is exclusively breastfeeding. To my horror upon reading the ingredient list I found this product to be loaded with artificial flavors, colors and preservatives. Caramel color that contains 4MEI (a carcinogen) was put in a product for an infant????!?!? Shame on you Enfamil. I'm glad I have a Food Science degree and knew better than give this to my child - but I am upset that you would even offer a product with those types of UNNECESSARY ingredients for infants to families who may not know better. SHAME ON YOU! I just ordered another product from your competitor which contain only vitamin d - no other unnecessary ingredients. I will not be buying any of your products because I have no faith in you making safe quality products after seeing this.

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil D-Vi-Sol Liquid Vitamin D Supplement, 50 mL Bottle:

Gave this to our 2 week old from a sample from the pediatrician. Within an hour or two, he was crying inconsolably and thrashing around for HOURS. Had terrible gas pains and ended up getting constipated. It was awful. He's now three weeks old and that hasn't happened since, it was definitely from this stuff. Our pediatrician acted so surprised he had this reaction, almost arguing with me that it probably wasn't from this. He must get a kick back for giving out these samples So upsetting.

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil D-Vi-Sol Liquid Vitamin D Supplement, 50 mL Bottle:

My pediatrician recommended this for my now two week old daughter because she is strictly breast fed. For the three days I was giving it to her, she was extremely fussy to the point where nothing could console her and she basically had to cry to the point of wearing herself out and falling asleep. She had runny diapers at least once an hour, sometimes more, to the point where she now has a diaper rash from how much her diaper needed to be changed. She didn't want to nurse and would barely even take a bottle. I could hear her stomach grumbling from how upset it was and she cried as if she was in a ton of pain and squirmed every time her tummy grumbled. After reading a bunch of other negative reviews with people having the same issues after giving it to their babies, I stopped giving it to mine. The same day I stopped and returned it to the store, she is back to her happy self, nursing and eating normally, not crying or screaming in pain, normal diapers, normal sleep/nap schedule, and smiling. It's very sad that a vitamin supplement has so many other ingredients and artificial flavors and colors before the actual vitamin on the ingredients. I would not at all recommend this.

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil D-Vi-Sol Liquid Vitamin D Supplement, 50 mL Bottle:

Because my daughter is strictly breastfeeding, I was told by her pediatrician she needed to get D3 since it's not present in breastmilk and I didn't want to try formula again since it upset her tummy a bit. Well, I decided to give it a try, however, that was the worst decision I could've made since she couldn't be consoled for hours. I had to shift her position over and over with putting to sleep was the best option because she was calmest during naps. She has a sensitivity to cow's milk, so subjecting my daughter over and over to trying different formulas that would otherwise result in terrible pain was the last thing I wanted to do to her. This vitamin solution was worse than any formula she has tried (3). I'm going to have to look in finding a formula that works or possibly goat's milk instead. I would rate this as a zero if possible, but this was an absolute wrecked my baby's gut because the crying screams she had that day was nearly on par with her getting shots, except the cries lasted longer. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone, so much so the product went in the trash that night.

It's exactly what my pediatrician said I needed to give my baby daily. I bought this for myself bc I ran out of my previous vitamin d but I also bought it for a friend as part of her baby shower gift. Perfect gift because it's something I didn't know I needed!

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil D-Vi-Sol Liquid Vitamin D Supplement, 50 mL Bottle:

Because I told my doctor she became exclusively breastfed due to formula giving her tummy aches, she gave me this solution to try out and another formula meant to be more sensitive. Because I was weary of formula, I thought this may be better on her and man was I wrong. My daughter screamed in pain practically for the entire day and it took much longer to console her for a nap. This was worse than the formula honestly, so I wouldn't recomment this to anyone. I would rate this as a 0 if I could but she did get the dose of vitamin D at least.

We wish we'd read the reviews before we bought it. I'm sure it does what it's supposed to do(give baby much needed Vitamin D), but it also gave him terribly bad gas, lots of discomfort, & upset his stomach so much so that his poops were more like a slimy discharges than bowel movements.

My baby girl had no issues all day long but once she was given her drops that all changed. She became fussy and was more gassy then usual. Then amount of diapers we changed in a short time span was ridiculous!! Her poor little belly just ached. I know she needs to take vitamin d but this is causing her more harm then good!!

Just because it's Doctor recommended does not mean it's what is best for your baby. Trust your instincts and do your own research! You know what's best for your baby. I gave my 10 month old this Enfamil Vitamin D which was prescribed by her pediatrician due to being breastfed and it did not sit well with her. She threw up immediately after her feedings and I won't be giving her anymore of that. Read the ingredients - Vitamin D3 is the second from the last ingredient! And it tastes horrible.
