We are happy with this set but it is important to know that it is not suitable for small children. Our 5 year old is too young for to set up this train but he can run it and loves how fast it goes and that it can go backwards.

This is a real model train set - not a toy like most Thomas sets. The engine can not be run for hours on end like the trackmaster or wooden engines. The trains have to be put onto the tracks carefully. The tracks have to be properly aligned and pushed together with some force. On the plus side, the same amount of force is necessary to take the track apart.

      Cars will not stay on the track. Both are too small and poorly constructed. Very disappointing for my grandson.
