I bought the paint for craft projects that me and my three year old could do together. The paint comes on thick and true to pallet, not watery and runny. There is also enough of each color to use more than once. We have already finished 4 works of art with paint left to spare! So for the price, considering these are water colors and for the purpose I purchased them for, I would consider this a great buy.

My daugther got the paint set as a gift. She loves to paint she'll do it for hours. We used to go threw paint sets after paint sets after paint set. The Melissa and Doug set seemed to last alot longer and had more colors to choose from not just your typical eight. Sometimes if you put way to much water the colors dont come out good but thats with any paint set. less water the best! I would recommened these to a friend. We are now on our 6th set!! Happy Painting!!!

I bought these for my 4- and 5-year olds for a stocking stuffer last year, and they have loved them! They are good quality paints with excellent color. Like with any water colors, you want to use as little water as possible. Just teach your children to use a little bit of water on their brush to get the paint wet so that it isn't a puddle, but a nice consistency. It took my kids a while experimenting and practicing, but now they have it down. The paint lasted a while for us. I am getting ready to buy them more for this Christmas as well as for my 2 year old who wants her own set!

Disappointed

Was so excited to get these for our budding three year old artist. She LOVES to paint and these were such a disappointment for us. The colors are virtually translucent on paper...and we use high quality water color paper. I dont' know how they can put "vibrant" in the description...nowhere near vibrant in spite of layering. Wouldn't recommend these AT ALL.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
