Product Description

Using the patented Rayosan process, the UV Moby Wrap has an SFP 50+. The design of the Moby Wrap uses your entire back, as well as your shoulders, to carry the weight of your baby. Unlike other carriers, which have narrow straps or go across one shoulder, the Moby Wrap is a wide piece of durable fabric that is wrapped over both shoulders. It is amazingly comfortable and easy to wear. There are no buckles, snaps or other fasteners (that may break or bend). It is easy to adjust the fit of your Moby Wrap by varying how tightly you wrap yourself and baby. Moby Wraps are one size which means all caregivers can easily and comfortably share one wrap. Moby Wrap can be used with babies from 8-35 pounds.

Moby Wrap, Inc., headquartered in Chico, CA, was founded by two mothers on a quest for the perfect way to carry Baby. After extensive research on child carriers from around the world, they developed a sling-like fabric cotton wrap designed to distribute the weight of Baby evenly from a parent's shoulders to hips.

Moby Wraps align Baby's center of gravity uniquely close to a parent's body to provide extra comfort and security. These wrap-style fabric child carriers don't have buckles, snaps or other fasteners. It is easy to adjust the fit of a Moby Wrap by varying the tightness of the wrap itself.

Moby Wraps are optimal baby carriers for babies up to 45 pounds. Also, Moby Wraps are high versatile, Baby can be wrapped facing in, out to the world, sideways or on a parent's back. When not being used as a carrier, the Moby can be used as blanket, pillow or anything else a parent can imagine.

I read the reviews and throughly weighed my options with this and found this was the best wrap to buy. Once I ordered it i googled "moby wrap" and found a ton of videos to show you how to wrap yourself and baby properly. As soon as the wrap got to my house I ripped open the package and started putting it on like an old pro (to my husbands surprise, he didn't know i had been studying!) and put my daughter in it right away. She was fussy before I put her in so it wasn't as successful as I had hoped it would be but 5 min later when her diaper was clean she was LOVING the wrap. She was sleeping so soundly within 2 minutes of being in it the second time! I LOVE THIS THING!!

I was really excited to use the Moby with our baby. I like attachment parenting, and wrapping seemed more cozy than the front-pack baby carrier. We tried Moby for awhile, and while baby was very new, she seemed to like it. However, past the first month, she would fuss quite a big compared to when she was in her front-pack carrier. Also, I find it very difficult to use. The wrapping itself is not hard, but the very long length (on my 5'3" body) means the thing drags all over the ground while you're wrapping. Fine at home, not fine in the grocery store parking lot. I also found it loosened over time (within an hour), and I would have to hoist and tighten, though it was never quite the same. Moby is supposed to be kinder on your back compared to baby carriers, but it hurt mine worse. I watched that video many times and followed instructions to a T. We gave up on the Moby and it's one of our baby purchases I regret.

Comments about Moby Wrap 1012160 Moby Wrap Baby Carrier - UV Sand:

I did not buy this particular wrap but bought a solid light color Moby Wrap over 3 years ago after doing a lot of research on wraps and carriers. I found that most carriers were uncomfortable for me and other wraps didn't seem to be very secure in my opinion. When I found Moby Wrap I was excited to try it and LOVED IT! This was very secure and comfortable for me and my daughter in any position I chose to use it. There are alot of different ways you can wear this wrap and it comes with a booklet to show you how. At first look it may seem to be a bit much to try and figure out the different wraps but believe me it is worth the time (just a couple of tries). There are also videos on Youtube you can watch if videos are easier than a book for instruction. The MobyWrap website is worth taking a look at for helpful info, instruction, questions, pictures, ect. When I was out and about with my wrap I would often here comments like "I need to get one of those." You can be hands free and still support and be close to your baby as if you were cuddling him/her. I used this for shopping, hiking, breast feeding, and lots more. I also used mine just around the house...my daughter was a major "cuddler" ("attached at the hip" as some would say)...so I would work in my kitchen, do laundry, some cleaning and picking up the house, and so on while carrying her in the Moby, she would often fall asleep because she was so comfortable and other times she was just happy being in it next to me. I should also mention that anyone can use this no matter what size...I am very short and petite and sometimes I would just do one extra wrap around the waist...but they do have a petite size on the MobyWrap website and I believe I did get the petite version but can't remember for sure.

I am not one to usually take the time to write reviews on anything so the fact that I am doing this 3+ years after purchasing one like this should be a hint. The shoulder and back support is phenomenal and for that reason alone is worth giving it a try!

Super soft and comfortable to use! Baby loves it too! I usually use Ergo carrier, but one of the clips broke so I got this carrier as my backup and love the fact that I can keep this on ven while the baby is not in and be ready to put baby in at anytime!

I LOVE the Moby Wrap and so does my 3 month old son. It is super comfy for both of us and surprisingly easy to use! It does get a little hot in warm weather, but otherwise I have NO complaints. I wish I had one with my first son.

Comments about Moby Wrap 1012160 Moby Wrap Baby Carrier - UV Sand:

I love this baby wrap so much, I use it almost every day, and I have it in three colors to go with different outfits. My baby is now 6 months old (17.5lbs), and he has been riding in his Moby since he was 2 weeks old (7.5lbs). I highly recommend this carrier. It has been so easy and comfortable to use, right from the beginning, which was especially important while I was experiencing post-partum back and hip pain. My husband and I are both able to wear the wrap (he's 6'/210lbs and I'm 5'/95lbs); he wraps it behind his back, and I wrap it in front.

*Tip: the flatter and wider the fabric around your shoulders AND across your back, the more comfortable it is to wear. Although my baby's typical Moby ride is only an hour (e.g. grocery trips), every once in a while he rides in his Moby for up to 4 hours (e.g. holiday shopping at the mall), with no discomfort for either of us.

*It's length does not make it too difficult to wear. For quick errands, I put the Moby on at home, drive to my destination, and transfer my baby from his car seat to the Moby after I've reached my destination. For longer trips, once I've reached my destination, I put the Moby on in the backseat, then transfer my baby from his car seat to the Moby.

*The more you wear it, the easier it is to put on and adjust it as needed. I make it high and snug to begin with, so I typically don't need to adjust it during quick trips. If I need to adjust the snugness, I hold him with one hand and adjust the straps with the other. Or I adjust the straps after a diaper change, while my baby is on a changing mat.

*Weather issues: In the summer, I used an umbrella to shade my baby and I during Moby trips outside and stayed in the shade. Every once in a while, I also brought along a portable fan with a mister. As for the winter, my baby wears a light sweater over his outfits, when he rides in the Moby. I wear a winter weather resistant mamacoat (designed for babywearing) that covers both of us, and both of us wear a hat.

*In comparison to using a stroller, the Moby is significantly easier, less cumbersome, and more enjoyable.

*Cons: The Moby is not for everything and may not be hands free while your baby is working on head control. In the beginning, my baby preferred his head and arms free, so I'd always have one hand supporting his neck and only one hand free. Now that he has great neck control and likes his arms tucked into the Moby, I'm hands free most of the time with the Moby. In addition, my baby's not a fan of riding in the Moby when I'm standing in one place for too long (e.g. folding laundry, doing dishes, cooking). For those times, I put my baby on a playmat.

Hope this helps other moms who are interested in the Moby!

Comments about Moby Wrap 1012160 Moby Wrap Baby Carrier - UV Sand:

This thing is great! I started using the Moby wrap when my son was about 5wks old and he loves it and often falls right to sleep in it - helps if he's fed and calm first. The best things about this wrap are that it can be used with newborns down to 5lb (many other carriers have a min wt requirement of 8lb), it's comfortable for both mom and baby and is easily machine washable.
It is a must have for multitasking parent.

The Moby Wrap is great. It allows me to get stuff done around the house. My son is sometimes fussy when I first get him in it but it doesn't take long for him to quiet right down and fall asleep. I like it better than my other front pack because this puts most of his weight around my hips instead of on my shoulders. Much more comfortable for long periods of time. It doesn't hurt my back as much.

Comments about Moby Wrap 1012160 Moby Wrap Baby Carrier - UV Sand:

I had originally been using a baby bjorn carrier, but I found that after wearing my daughter for only 20 minutes that my entire back hurt. I bought the Moby Wrap yesterday after a friend and my doctor recommended it to me. It took me only five minutes to figure out how to put the wrap on and I've loved it ever since. My daughter, who is 20 lbs, feels like she weighs 10. Her weight is so evenly distributed that my back is fine even after an hour. She loves it too.

I would recommend getting a lighter color if you live in a hot area. The fabric does breath a bit, but I can't even imagine how hot both my daughter and I would get if I had got the black one (the only other color that was available for purchase at my local store).

Comments about Moby Wrap 1012160 Moby Wrap Baby Carrier - UV Sand:

I'll start w/ the cons b/c everything else is soo amazing! It takes a minute to put on(which is an eternity when a baby is crying) and it's kind of hot to wear it outside in Florida(I mostly used it around the house). Now for the pros... I also have a regular strap on carrier from infantino and a sling from peanutshell and one from jellybean. The sling is quicker, but hurts my shoulder and is better for older babies. The moby wrap was by far the most comfortable carrier. It took the pressure off my shoulders and back. It is soft and versatile. It can cradle a baby, face baby in, face baby out, carry baby on your back, and can even be used to nurse the baby. It comforted my baby when she was upset. My baby loved it! I did too! Once you learn how to wrap it, it'll be your saving grace... so don't give up:)
