Saw this set at a parent/teacher supply store and my 3 year old and husband were engaged with the apple, plum, and orange. The banana was not on display. I like the magnetic feature as the pieces of fruit easily stay together during assembly. The banana is in three pieces and is not magnetized. The banana pieces do not easily fit together (Mom and Dad had trouble putting together and taking apart). The banana needs redesigned but we do not regret the purchase...one bad banana did not spoil the whole bowl in this case. Four good fruits.

I bought this for use in the Toddlers Room at our church nursery. I love the large size as compared to regular stacking cups, but I was disappointed in the thickness of the plastic. The also seem to like a thicker edge at the openings of the cakes making them a little difficult to hold on to when building the tower.

Comments about Learning Resources Smart Snacks Trail Mix and Match:

We received this as a gift a few years back and LOVE it. So many uses: from using it just as a kitchen play toys to learning groups and even fractions.

Only con (but hasn't inhibited our enjoyment) is that a few of the magnet inside have loosened from their position so they rattle around and can sometimes need some finessing to get them to gravitate...that being said, we've had ours for years and I recently bought this to give as a gift too.

Comments about Learning Resources Smart Snacks Trail Mix and Match:

One of my twins is in Occupational Therapy. So we bought this product to help with her fine motor skills. It has bright fun colors with large easy to lace "beads" and can also be used to play with their play kitchen. The laces need to be longer. We tied one piece of trail mix to the end and there is not enough extra slack to make it easy to thread more pieces. We ended up using different laces.

Comments about Learning Resources Smart Snacks Trail Mix and Match:

I bought this for my son for Christmas when he was 18 months old. He loved it from the first moment he saw it. He's into a big sorting stage right now and loves smaller objects that can fit in his hands. All the trail mix pieces are a nice size, with the smallest being the M&M-like candies. He's never really tried to put the pieces in his mouth, however, I always watch and play with him when he plays with his trail mix. The pieces are made of very sturdy rubber-like material...not hollow plastic. He's now 20 months old and has found so many different ways to play with this set. He hasn't quite mastered the fine motor skill of stringing the trail mix onto the string, but he enjoys counting, sorting, matching, and sequencing with the pieces. The peanuts are his favorites and he'd carry them everywhere with him if we let him. He's even played with them in the bathtub. This was a great investment and I can see my son continuing to play with this for a long time to come. I'm tempted to buy a second set so he can have more pieces...especially peanuts!

            from Downham Market, Norfolk

Comments about Learning Resources Smart Snacks Trail Mix and Match:

The layer cake was a challenge for the children. It encouraged them to persevere and explore the sizes in order for them to place the cakes in the correct order and complete the task. It encouraged them to work together and help each other. The children also enjoyed counting the stars and discovering what number was written on the side. Some of the children had a different number of layers and were able to talk about who had the shortest and tallest cake towers.
