We purchased this bike to assemble at home which we have done with previous bikes; however the welding errors and measurements were very off. So off, that adjustments which would normally work to smooth out issues with new- put-together bike kits- were not applicable. The issues are with the manufacturing of individual parts of the frame and elsewhere. Both wheels had rim problems as well. We're disappointed for our son (he picked this one out and was really looking forward to it) and will be returning it and looking for a higher quality product.

We bought this bike for our 6-year-old son for Christmas. As my husband was putting it together, he realized that the spokes were broken on the front wheel and that it was also missing a screw for the brakes. What a disappointment! We had to still put it together so that our son could at least see his new bike on Christmas morning. Now reading the other comments, we should have paid the extra money for a better bike! That's what we get for not doing our homework first and just buying the bike that was on sale. Now we know why it was on sale!

Well enough built for the price. We did purchase it assembled. Only thing I don't care for is the training wheels don't touch the ground simutaneously so it's a bit wobbly. I love the easy adjustable seat.

We bought this for my 6 yo boy to hopefully get him started riding a two wheeler. We used it for a year and the bike is just not holding together. The pedals in particular are just plain useless. There are no bearings and the spindles are sized up, which causes the right pedal to unthread from the cranks during use. The hand brakes are for looks only, they do not function with any performance. The knobby make it difficult to get the bike rolling for little kids. Bottom line, I tried to save a few bucks by getting a cheap bike, now I need to buy another. Go to a bike shop and spend 2-3 times as much for a quality bike.

The chain has fallen off this bike so many times! We keep adjusting the bike but nothing works. We have had it for a couple months now and my 5 year old will not get on it. We are taking it back today and getting a better bike.

The first one we bought had a bent sprocket out of the box. I exchanged it for another one just like it, and while putting it together, I realized it had a bent crankshaft. Do not buy this bike.

My son had his mind set on this bike. Mostly because of the handle brakes. We opted to build it ourselves.

The instruction manual: Very general and basic. So hard to figure out. They aren't even for this bike. Just a kids bike in general. So it will tell you something like "put the kickstand down" and there isn't one. So you have to use some common sense with this one.

Quality: Second day of my 5 year old riding it... 2 times the chain has come off. The chain and back wheel were already pre-assembled. Now I gotta fix the back wheel but I can't take off the bolt they tightened.

All and all... cool lookin bike but poor quality.

My grandson just turned 5 and was uncomfotable riding his old 12" bike. That ended when he got onto this one. I can't get him off now! I had it assembled in about 10 minutes without ever looking at the manual. This is the best present I've ever bought him and would highly recommend it.

My grandson loves his first bicycle at age 4. Just his size, great name, includes training wheels,couldn't be better for a first bicycle.

I should have known there was going to be trouble when a washer fell of the factory sealed box as I carried it into the house. As for the instructions, lets put it this way, Avigo makes one set of instructions for every bike they make from little boys/girls bikes to big mountain bikes. Therefore, they aren't even close to specific for the bike you purchase. There is no parts list, no required hardware, etc. It is all very generic. After a few tries, I tossed the instructions to the side and used common sense. This worked until I got to the handlebars. There is a single picture just showing handlebars and the instructions read like this, "loosen the bolt using the 6mm Allen key". Um, what bolt and what Allen key? So, I dig around and find a big bolt tossed in the bottom of the box. I'm not sure how I would loosen it though since it isn't bolted into anything. I go ahead and put it in the handlebars, but it is just dangling loose in the neck of the bike. I get my flashlight and look down into the neck and there is absolutely nothing to screw it into. I start wondering if I'm missing a part, then I remember there is no parts list so I can't even determine if something is missing. So, I move on hoping to have a moment of brilliance when I come back to it. On to the seat. "Loosen the nut on the seat clamp and add 3 or 4 drops of oil to the threads of the bolt." Well, what is the seat clamp? Is that the clamp on the seat or the clamp on the bike that holds the seat on? Oil? I don't have oil. Was it supposed to come with oil? Who knows? No parts list. So, I use common sense and get the seat on. It isn't oiled though. I hope that isn't a problem later, but I don't have oil. When the whole thing is together other than the handlebar, I decide to call the company. Oops, it is Saturday and they are only open from 7-4 on weekdays. Hope you don't have a job or that you can take your bike to work with you and take time to deal with them and their lack of parts and instructions. Seeing as I have a 4 year old little boy napping who can't wait to ride his bike when he gets up, I Google. The Avigo website is useless. I can download "an" owners manual. That is right, there is one. This is how I know they only make one for all their bikes. Aside from this, there is no information that is helpful at all. [...].The only reason I gave this bike 2 stars was because once it is put together, it seems to be a pretty good little bike. I hope so at least!
