My 7-year-old son bought this boat earlier this year. On the second use, the radio signal system failed. We could only control the boat from a short distance. We returned the boat to the manufacturer, Megatech. It fixed the signal problem for free even though we were just past the warranty. Then when the boat came back with a broken propeller, Megatech shipped another set of propellers at no charge. We then took it for another spin. But when my son smashed it into the wall of a small lake in Golden Gate Park, the motor stopped working. Squeezing the accelerator does lead to a faint sound from within the boat, and the rudder still works. But I think we're done with this boat. Megatech has given us good service. But there have been too many problems. Maybe it would be better suited to an older kid.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
