Basic toy with not many options, our 1 year old carries around the tools and doesn't really play with the bench.

First glance it looks easy to put together till you actually do it. All you have to do is hammer a two foot metal rod into a lock nut half an inch in diameter and round on the bottom. I tried, my husband tried and a friend. Impossible to connect. And I've put together every Christmas toy, every gift, every 1,000 piece Lego set. I took it back and got something else. Long story short, don't buy this. I have three kids from 8 to 1 year old and I've notices the decline in little tykes products.

At first when I read all the negative reviews I was questioning keeping this or not (it was a gift). Don't believe all the bad reviews this toy received. It was very easy to put together, just putting 2 rods through the holes and hammering the caps on. Also a lot of people commented about the legs and it falling over. You have to use some strength and pull the legs apart. They will both snap out like in the picture on the box. I find it to be very study. The gears on the front turn very easy and no issues with the tools sliding off the pegs. I find this entire toy to be of very good quality. Plus its made in the USA which is rare these days with toys. My 2 year old really likes this and has also found other uses for it with other toys he has. Maybe all those issues were from an older design cause this one is great, I'd recommend it!

For how small this toy is it was annoying to put together. After we got it together we looked at it thinking, "that's it?!" We gave it to my 18 month old son and he pretty much walked away from it and hasn't touched it again. The nails take one hit to get it. It is so hard to use the wrench unless you only have one screw in at a time. There are better toy tools out there save your money and don't buy this one.

Bought this for my son for christmas, luckily I decided to put it together ahead of time. The way it was packaged ruined the top section where the tools are stored. It is totally bent out of shape.

Small and flimsy. My 2 year old son showed no interest in it. Got it for him last Christmas and it's already in the trash.

I bought this as a gift for a nephew and at first I was just going to wrap the box, but because of all the reviews saying how long it took to put together I decided it was probably best to put together first. I am happy to say that it was super easy and took at most 10 minutes to put together (my 4 year old helped). To put together all you are doing is inserting two rods and then capping them. It is very cute and even my 4 year old liked it!
