When I first bought these it was to use in the car near my then 1 year old son's rear facing car seat. He's eight now, and I'm a child passenger safety technician - those people who check your car seat (if you haven't done it - do! Over 80% are installed/used wrong).

Anyway, all the reviews above that had bad luck? To be blunt without intetion of spite - um, they weren't doing it right. :blushes: It's like any static cling thing, it's not sticky like a sticker. It works with static. So on a cold, dry day, these aren't going to go on your dirty windows very well.

Clean the window, leave it damp, even spray the sunshade a bit, and it will go right on. Rub air bubbles out with the straight edge of something (pros would use a squeegee, a credit card will suffice). There. done. Mine stayed for years until I removed them, with no damage done to my windows. And all the ones I've installed for other people stayed, and didn't have tons of air bubbles.

These shades are perfect, cheap, and safe. The ones with the suction cups? Yep, dangerous in the car. I wish other people would stop recommending those things. Basically before you put something around your child's car seat, bonk yourself on the head with it. If it HURTS don't use it! I realize that sounds stupid, but in an accident, that sunshade with the suction cups that falls down at all the stoplights will go flying at your kid and it's going to cause damage. It also has lots of little parts a kid could get in their hands and therefore their mouths to choke on.

Really, you're better off with these, I promise!

Comments about Safety 1st 2-Pack Sunshade:

This sunshade is the safest option available because it's the only one that will not be a projectile in the case of an accident. All other sunshades include hard pieces that can be dangerous to your baby when they are dislodged with the force of an accident.

I use these clings on my rear window (please note that if you have a rear window defroster, you cannot turn on the defroster with the window cling installed because it will melt). It provides good sun protection for my rear-facing son. It is similar to looking through sunglasses. I can still see through my window with it on (not perfectly, but way better than others we've tried). It doesn't look as good as real window tint, but it's much cheaper. They're not prefect rectangles, but they would be easy to trim to fit. They aren't big enough to cover the whole rear window, but you could always puzzle-peice a few together. They haven't fallen off or started to curl at the edges, despite being installed on a very slanted window and being left in the sun in high temps. I'm getting more for my side windows.

Comments about Safety 1st 2-Pack Sunshade:

This product does the job stated on the packaging. However, the sun shades themselves were cut carelessly. The had jagged edes, which I guess you coulc recut, but then that would make the shade smaller and cover less of the window.

These allow me to raise and lower the window without having to reach my arm back and manually roll up the pully ones. You have to follow the instructions carefully or they won't stick. Three stars because it would have been nice if they were UVA/UVB protectant.

Like this product it covers the window better than the roll shades. The roll shades get really hot and the suction cups half the time and swing loose. Only thing I just wish they were a little darker but it works!
