When I first bought these it was to use in the car near my then 1 year old son's rear facing car seat. He's eight now, and I'm a child passenger safety technician - those people who check your car seat (if you haven't done it - do! Over 80% are installed/used wrong).

Anyway, all the reviews above that had bad luck? To be blunt without intetion of spite - um, they weren't doing it right. :blushes: It's like any static cling thing, it's not sticky like a sticker. It works with static. So on a cold, dry day, these aren't going to go on your dirty windows very well.

Clean the window, leave it damp, even spray the sunshade a bit, and it will go right on. Rub air bubbles out with the straight edge of something (pros would use a squeegee, a credit card will suffice). There. done. Mine stayed for years until I removed them, with no damage done to my windows. And all the ones I've installed for other people stayed, and didn't have tons of air bubbles.

These shades are perfect, cheap, and safe. The ones with the suction cups? Yep, dangerous in the car. I wish other people would stop recommending those things. Basically before you put something around your child's car seat, bonk yourself on the head with it. If it HURTS don't use it! I realize that sounds stupid, but in an accident, that sunshade with the suction cups that falls down at all the stoplights will go flying at your kid and it's going to cause damage. It also has lots of little parts a kid could get in their hands and therefore their mouths to choke on.

Really, you're better off with these, I promise!

We are using it to block out sunshine coming in our front door and it does a great job....some mornings too good a job! We plan to get another pkg because this one doesn't cover the entire window.

I've tried all kinds of sun shades and haven't been super impressed with any...this is my first time with ones that stick directly to the window. I thought these would be great because we could still roll down the window, but I need to work on making them lay flat without bubbles. If I can accomplish that then I think these will be great! My kids like how dark it is in the backseat now. No more "the sun's trying to get me!".

My first attempt to attach to rearview mirror, I accidentally covered the sensor for the auto dimmer on rearview mirror. I had to take it off and reposition it. A couple hours later when I went to use the car, the little mirror had fallen off. I put it back on and it fell off again. I returned it to the store. Its possible you would have better luck if you can stick it on correctly the first time.

Comments about Safety 1st 2-Pack Sunshade:

This is exactly what I thought I was looking for. My son loves the noise of the window being down so a regular sunshade wouldn't have worked. I needed something that would block out the sun, but still allow me to roll the window down and I thought this was it.

My rear car windows are about 22" wide and just high enough that I wouldn't have had to trim the shade. I didn't even get that far. Applying the thing to your window is like trying to get a screen protector on your phone - air bubbles EVERYWHERE. It didn't matter how smoothly I put it on, or how many times I pulled up pieces to reset and smooth it out, it looked awful (nothing like the on the package, of course). I finally decided that I didn't care if it looked tacky as long as I could roll the window down - also a fail. I decided that since that was the whole point of why I purchased this product it wasn't worth and will be returning it to the store.

This just looks like a bad window tint job. You also can't roll down the window while it's attached. I wouldn't buy this again, but we're not returning it because it is doing the job for now. We're in Texas and the summers get really hot, so I'm hoping we can find a better alternative soon.

My car has very light tint. So this is easy to put and peel off. Other product are knocked down by kids hands, this product is not.
product should be rounded on sides instead of squares and add something to remove the bubbles while placing product on window.
