We bought this just before our son turned 1 and was getting around a lot more. He was pulling himself up on serveral things and I was worried when my back was turned he would use the oven handle to pull himself up and open a hot oven. He just turned 3 a few months ago, and the lock is still in place and working well! No problems with the glue.
B/c our oven handle has an upward arch, we had to place the lock to the side of the oven rather than the center; the design almost didn't work for us but it just fits!
As others have said, one downside is that it typically falls after the oven is open, so I have to lift the lock to close the oven door. Not a big deal to me though as it only takes a second and my son is no where near the oven when the door is opened. When I close the oven, I fully push the lock down and it automatically locks.
My father also purchased this device for his dishwasher; my grandmother (who has dementia) lives with them and is constantly unloading a dirty dishwasher. So it can be used for other applicances other than the oven :)

We got this product 2 years ago, when our first child started to crawl. It was easy to attach, and simple enough to use. However, the latch does not slide far enough to actually lock the oven closed. The notch is so small, that you can pull on the oven door, and the lock will pop open. After the lock is opened, the lock falls down into the doors path, so you need another hand free to close the oven again. If the notch part of the lock was made deeper, the lock would work. But as it is, this is a useless product with a false sense of security.

Purchased item because our 18 month old keeps opening up the oven door. Concept is good, however the sticky part of the item does not stick. Seems as though the item was not thoroughly thought out.

We were unable to use this lock on our oven, since there is not enough space between the handle and the oven door. Very disappointing.

The door handle fit the lock but it would still open and close and after a week of using it, it fell off and wont stick back on. Our son knows how to unlatch the cleaning lock and he is 1yrs old so we bought this. We now have to find something else.

This won't work for us because our oven handle is too close. It hits the handle and won't open. Otherwise I thought it was well made and babyproof but not adult proof

Very easy to install, just stick and your done. Daughter cannot open broiler anymore!

This lock works great on our oven. It opens and locks very well and we never have any problems with it. The adhesive is strong and the lock is very well constructed and sturdy. My 18 month old twin boys have yet to figure it out.

Bought this lock for my oven on Thanksgiving. As soon as my oven was hot enough to need to be locked, the glue heated up and it lost all of it's stickyness. The lock wouldn't adhere to the oven at all. Wish I wouldn't have wasted the money on this.

The latch flap is continually flopping down and getting in the way of the closing of the oven door. And once it's hot, it's a coin toss on whether it locks or not. I'm not sure it's worth the aggravation. It's less hassle to keep an eye on my daughter when she's in the kitchen which is something I'm doing anyway.

If the latch flap would stay put - and if I could rely on it to lock when heated - this would be a useful product.
