    Comments about Soma Intl Ltd Edu Science 3 in 1 Dino Excavation:

    My twin daughters had a lot of fun chiselling the "bones" out of the rock. The many pros of such an activity should be fairly obvious-- e.g., it's educational, it requires attention to detail and persistence to achieve, hand-eye coordination is utilized-- but there are two relatively minor cons of which you should be aware: 1) the bones are sort of clustered in the middle of the "rock," so the project can initially be slightly tedious before the discovery of the first bone; and 2) this activity will make a huge mess. (Thus I contemplated giving it four stars.) It is not dusty at all, which is positive, but the amount of gravel that covered the table and floor and all surfaces within a ten-foot radius was rather amazing. Clean-up was easy, but the flying debris from the chiselling action was not exactly what I'd expected.

    Once found, my girls had little trouble fastening the bones together, although I may eventually use glue to ensure it doesn't come apart-- white craft is the variety recommended. They have also had a lot of fun and imagination using the T. Rex to chase the velociraptor around the house.

    Overall, I would highly recommend this toy for any burgeoning little scientists.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
