Comments about Ignition Entertainment 1002008 Muramasa: The Demon Blade for Nintendo Wii:

If you're looking for a good action game on the Wii, you should seriously consider this game. If you're looking for an in-depth role-playing game, you're going to need to find something else. With that being said, Muramasa is not a bad game. On "easy" mode (muso mode) the game is a pretty casual romp through a fictional/stylized Feudal Japan, allowing you time to enjoy the game's amazing design and animations without the pressure of getting a game over. On hard mode (shura mode) your video game prowess is tested in a way that's challenging, but not frustrating or outright unfair. It's one of those games where if you fail a level, you know that you can beat it if you put your game face on.

One thing I must mention about the game is that you do quite a bit of backtracking. Sometimes you'll be spending quite a bit of time traveling through levels with not much going on. It's a bit tedious at times, but the action/fighting portions do make up for this.

Another issue with this game is the fact that the story is very light. It's almost to the point where it feels like it's more of a peripheral and not something essential to the game.

All in all, this is a pretty good game in terms of more "hardcore orientated" games available in the Wii's library. I highly recommend it to fans of action games, especially those that enjoy games with a more retro feel.
