I bought two of these last winter for my two kids who were outgrowing their Britax Marathon seats. A couple of weeks later, we left on a road trip from Minnesota to Florida, straight through. These seats were comfortable for my kids. Their heads didn't flop around. As for the recline, you do need to have them on a captains chair type seat that also will recline with the seat. We were able to recline the seats after the kids fell asleep and they slept their normal 10 hours. We have them latched in a Dodge Grand Caravan with stow and go, so the two seats by the doors recline. Works great.

This seat is comfortable, safe, and easy to use. My daughter has never once complained about being uncomfortable in it, and that means it must be comfortable because she doesn't hesitate to complain about any little thing! For those whose children still occasionally sleep in the car, this is not the right choice -- the child will fall forward (completely) since the vehicle's seat belt does not lock (like when you brake hard) and thus allows the child to slump forward all the way. What you need if you have a taller child who still falls asleep in the car is a five-point harness high-back car seat that has extended height and weight limits. There are some out there -- do some research and you will find what you need! I gave it five stars because it does what we want it to do and what it should do, as it is a high-back booster seat which utilizes the vehicle's seat belt. I did not know it advertised the ability to recline (we didn't buy it for that reason), so I cannot comment on other reviewers' complaints about the seat not reclining.

This is a great seat. For those who complained about it not having a 5 point harness and their child can unbuckle themselves, that is because it is a Booster Seat. I love the LATCH system and the cup holders are very big. We have this seat and the Britax booster seat and I must say hands down this one is our favorite!! The LATCH helps it stay in place and not move around and the seat is very comfortable for my son to sit in.

I bought this seat for my 4 year old who often sleeps in the car. The info said that it reclined 2 positions and it definitely does not recline. My child actually fell forward when she fell asleep because it does not have the 5 point harness. She is also able to unbuckle herself and has done so when we are on the road. This seat is great if your child does not need to sleep at all.
We are having to buy another seat that does actually recline when she needs to sleep and that has a 5 point harness(definitely a must have)

I looked forever for a 5 point harness booster seat. Nothing I found seemed ideal and most were too small for my 5 1/2 year old son. So I researched regular boosters and came across this one. We have 3 hand me down Graco Turbo booster. They are ok but I like this one much better. The first thing that drew me to it was the LATCH system. That was a real selling point for me. Now that we have it, my son loves it. He told me, unprompted, that it was much more comfortable for him than the Turbo Booster is. The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is that it boasts it's ability to recline and we are unable to get a recline in our Sienna. Maybe that feature works better in other vehicles.

I am very pleased with this booster seat and would definitely recommend it to friends.

The Sunshine Monterey Booster car seat is absolutely wonderful, very solid since it comes with a LATCH to keep the booster in place. Plus, it is very luxurious and comfortable! My son prefers this car seat over the Britax Marathon since he has outgrown the Britax.
