I surfed for weeks. My husband drives really fast lol!, so I was paranoid and wanted to ensure the saftety of my son. Since money is not a concern I had many options available.

I had a chicco infant carseat and thought about going that direction again. I just loved everything about this car seat. There is nothing that this seat doesnt have. We travel alot to family % hours away, so it has great comfort. My son is a huge 4 and the back raises high to accomodate his height. The back removes and becomes a bigkid seat. It has cup holders and the material is great for hot summers and also cold winters. Doesnt show stains at all so you can resale easliy. It looks very expensive. I love it, the quality is incredible. I cant believe this carseat isnt in the stores but only online. Its wonderful and you wont be sorry! ps. I read a review on this seat before purchasing that the side headrests came out to far to where the child could not see or talk to his his siblings in the car, ...not true. Its also not too heavy, but I dont move this seat from car-to-car everyday either. I will be happy when this awesome carseat is more widely sold because its great! love it love love it

I liked every thing I had read about this seat except for how heavy some websites were saying it was. Well I ordered it anyway since I really wanted the deeper side wings for my 30 lb 6 yr old. Surprise, the manufacturer box states 15.7 lbs. It is bigger than a Graco turbo booster but still easier to maneuver in and out than our Britax Marathon. I will miss the Britax latches though, their release buttons are so much easier. I was worried about the seat being too big since my son hasn't actually outgrown his marathon.( we just recently put the harness in the top slots) I am very happy with the way the shoulder belt fits with the lowest headrest position. With only one ride in it so far, no complaints about the headrest, but my son did notice how much lower he sat vs his marathon. Time will tell if this is a problem.

I bought this seat for my son when he was ready to transition from a car seat to a booster. One of the main selling points was the fact that it had a LATCH system. Booster seats can become projectiles in accidents if not in use and I didn't want to deal with having to buckle it in if my son was not using it. We have been using the seat for a year and a half and haven't had any problems. My son loves the wings up by the head. When he falls asleep, his head is supported by the wings and he never ends up slumped over. He has always been able to buckle himself in (he started using the seat when he was 5 1/2.) The buckle fit is perfect. Now that he's almost 7 years old and tall enough for a low back booster, I suggested switching, but my son said absolutely not. He prefers the high back and doesn't want to give up his "comfy seat." When my daughter is ready for a booster next year, I will purchase another Monterey.

We still are unhappy with a few things, but overall really like the seat and our son does also. I love the latch system with a booster seat. It is easy for him to get in and out of it. However, he can't buckle himself. The seatbelt guide is too tightly fitted and our seatbelt does not smoothly slide through it. He still sits forward while watching a movie or while talking, but for the most part he is very comfortable. He doesn't watch a movie often at all anyway! We also agree that it is worth the extra money. It is well built and easily adjusted for other children. We plan to buy the radian for our daughter shortly.

This is my second son's first booster seat. He will be 4 in July. He is a big guy at 46 pounds and 42" tall! After reading the reviews on this seat, researching other websites, and wanting a booster that worked with the latch system, I decided this one was the right one. The red is a perfect match with my car, too. It is heavily padded and comfortable. It installed quickly without any trouble. It does not have the third strap that goes down the back of the seat. I suppose that is what the shoulder strap is for anyway, but I would have preferred it have one. My only complaint is that my son sits forward in it because the padding for safety around the ears/head is huge! It looks like two big elephant ears! He can't comfortably turn his head sideways and it sticks out so far that he leans forward to talk to his brother and sister. His neck would have to be 3 inches longer to avoid this problem. Also, when he watches a movie, the headphones are too large for him to keep his head inside the seat and he has to lean forward. The additional padding for safety is useless if the kids sit forward. I also found that he still can't buckle himself in. The seatbelt sits tightly in the belt guide and is very difficult for even my big guy to slide and maneuver. So, for these reasons, we will likely return the seat. Still trying to decide. He has used it for three days. I should say, he fell asleep in it yesterday and I was pleased to see that in a reclined position, his head was completely straight and not in that neck cramp or head-bobbling position that looks so uncomfortable. As for construction, It doesn't seem worth the extra money to me. I do like the latch system, but I found it to be no better built than many other less expensive seats that I have purchased and used in the past.
