It works, that's all. It does not take brain surgery to put them in. I got them out just fine (for moving). And they stand up to brother and sister using it as a trampoline, neither the mattress nor the rails took damage...

I bought this online to be able to convert a crib I bought second-hand. I'm sure this item would work very well if all of the pieces were included. However, after two different shipments, there have been pieces missing both times--the second time, the instruction sheet was missing as well!! Apparently Dorel doesn't actually make this item, so calling them (as a Toys R Us rep suggested) to get a replacement part is beyond frustrating and a phenomenal waste of time. My suggestion is to find this in a store even if it's a bit of a drive and make sure all the pieces are in the box before you leave.

You would think that slipping the edges into pre-cut areas would be a breeze well you are wrong. The only way we got these to work was by accidently bending the screws on oneside of the foot board. Now if I ever need to use my tot's bed as a crib again I have to re-buy the screws. Not happy with this purchase at all.

I used these to make the convertible crib set from a day bed to a full size bed for my 4 year old. When we bought the crib when she was born we didn't get the side rails to make the bed into a "big girl bed" and we just couldn't find them now so we settled for these. Yes, they are an ugly color I wish that they were available in white but they went in really easy - used the wire in the middle to hold the boxspring and she has slept in it for a month now. I do not foresee any problems, however I am sure we will purchase her a new bedroom set when she is ready for a tween or teen room.

They were a little wide for the slots that were pre cut in the crib and we had to chisel them out to make them wider so the rails would it and lock in securely. My husband got really frustrated cuz we were expecting to slide them in, and set up the bed but it took about 20 mins out making them work. Probably more the crib manufacturers fault but still not really a "trouble-free" experience.

Received the rails in good condition, with all parts in the box. Instructions were clear and straightforward. My only complaint would be that they were ever so slightly warped on the ends so they were hard to fit in to the slat opening in the headboard. Nothing I couldn't overcome though. I would still recommend to a friend.

Everyone who wrote that the mattress was falling, or flimsy, or doesnt hold...Come On People! What kind of bed do u know of that doesnt need a box spring or spring board? NONE! Of course the mattress was falling through! The conversion rails are made to hold the box spring and the saftey wires purpose is for safety! (If the box spring shifts, they will hold it up so your child wont fall!) The rails took a bit of muscle to get in the slots, which just means will take muscle to get them out! The rails serve their purpose and are sturdy if installed properly.

[...] once i got them straightened out they didn't want to slide into place. I called the manufacturer of the crib AGAIN to make sue I ordered the right product, they confirmed. After much hammering we got them in place and level to find the new full box spring would not fit. Still not sure if the rail or crib manufacturer are to blame. My hubby was able to "shoe horn" the box spring in, but it's putting a lot of pressure on the crib frame now, so I don't expect it to hold up for long.

Used these to turn our crib into headboard and footboard for full size bed. Much less expensive than buying the ones that actually go with the crib ($200) It took a little muscle to get them into the slots but they are very sturdy.
