Comments about Tara Toys Toy Story 3 Tell a Story:

For a simple toy like this that costs [$], I expect it to be fairly good at what it's designed for; recording your own story. This is far from that. The pre-recorded voice quality is like a dirty vinyl record. Your own voice sounds ten times worse and that's if you speak into the mic less than an inch away. Any further away and you can't even make out what was recorded during playback. Recorded playback actually sounds like your speaking into an open tin can held against your mouth.I'm not sure why there is a set, pre-recorded sentence that plays before your child's recording. This seems to stifle creativity since the child may feel the need to tell their story using that pre-recorded sentence. But I guess that doesn't matter since you can really hear what they recorded anyway.The record and playback buttons are also right next to each other which poses another problem. A simple tap of the record button erases your recording.At least the magnets look nice but they're not very strong. If a child carries this vertically, they'll be leaving a trail of magnets. I'm glad my kid doesn't mind all these negatives since it can be used as a whiteboard.We got this as a gift so I can only hope it was bought on sale.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
