When you get to the store the one on the shelf is called sea runner not sea bird it also only has a 120 feet range not 200 as described. however it is the same part number. it is nowhere near lighting fast as described. When we first took it out of the box and put in brand new batteries it did not work, we changed the batteries and then it worked.It was not bad just not as described.

My kid bought this with his own money and was really excited to use it. The boat is painfully slow. Tried changing the batteries. Of course we no longer have the box to return it. Very dissapointing

I own a Brushless boat and I wanted to buy this to see if I can mod it and add a faster motor and more powerful battery but I wasn't sure if that would be possible until I opened it. For this price, this boat is well built, looks good on the water and is very water proof. I bashed this boat many times in the lake and water never got inside. I am 20 years old and I love this boat. Imagine how the kids would love it. It has a very good range of about 200 feet. Steering is very stable and easy. The only issue about this boat is that it is quite slow and not "lightning fast" as described. But, you can change the motor and the battery and this boat will race. The rudder and propeller are plastic but what would you expect for this price. The interior of the boat is very professionally built. There are lot of space for upgrades and mods and lots of holes for screws in case you want to add a bigger motor and a motor mount for support. You can even add a brushless motor, an ESC, a speed controller, and a metal shaft, if you know how to do it. The servo is good enough, no need to change. I would highly recommend this boat for kids to play in ponds and pools and for teenagers if they want to mod it. I got the white version of this boat because it looks better than the blue one in the water. I also use this boat as a rescue boat when I run my Brushless boat. All in all, cool boat. Parents, get this for your little munchkins:)

My son got one of these for his birthday along with new batteries for it. Put the batteries in, turned it on and nothing. Took it back and got a new one and it won't work either.
