We bought this glider before my daughter was born. She is now 7 months old and at about 5 months the chair started falling apart down below in the gliding mechanism. The screws started falling out and we can't screw them back in because they wood is stripped. The rocker makes a horrible jerking motion when going back and forth. It also makes a loud creak that won't go away. I found that you can only barely barely rock in order for the jerking motion to not be as noticeable and for the creak to disappear. Unfortunately my daughter needs to have a pretty significant back and forth motion in order to go to sleep. Clearly the wood is cheap and if you plan on using this rocker for more than a "just barely there" rock then it's not going to last. It just can't handle any sort of significant rocking motion. After 7 months we will be looking for a different rocker which is unfortunate because it was not cheap.

It is a really good chair for the price and my wife loves it but the directions are terrible. I want to express that I don't have any problems with directions but the set that came with this glider need to be better. If you are not somebody who is a great at directions, please take your time.

When I was pregnant with my first child, I made the mistake of thinking I wouldn't need a rocker... After a year of sleepless nights and walking the floor, when I got pregnant with my second child just after our son's first birthday, I realized a rocker is the one thing I definitely wanted!! I tried out several in person and settled on this one for comfort and durability. That was almost 5 years ago. I LOVE this rocker. I had a c-section and had to sleep in it for 6 weeks after my baby was born because lying down was very painful... Thankfully, the recline feature allowed me to lay back enough to be comfortable, but not enough to be completely flat - Plus I could lock it into whatever position I wanted! It was perfect for rocking my baby to sleep, and also, had plenty of room for our son to climb up and snuggle with me comfortably. This chair has held up through military moves, two kids, dogs, etc... and we haven't had a single issue out of it. It doesn't even make a sound when using it. It is still comfortable and has held up great, even when being used almost constantly. I highly recommend this chair. The ONLY negative I have found is that if you have the chair in "rock" mode, rather than the "lock" position, and you rock all the way forward and sit right on the edge of the chair, it CAN (not always, but it can) tip forward; though that is rare.

I could not assemble the chair
The directions were no help
The all screws strip and wont screw in
The quaility of the metal used in making the hardware is total junk
I would have returned the chair but trying to get all the parts back into the box proved to next to impossable, so I smashed the chair into 1,000 peices and put it in the dumpster.

DONT BUY WASTE OF MONEY, I AM NOT GOING BACK TO BABY R US.

Got this item home on Sunday and started taking pieces out of the box only to find that the main back piece was cracked. It looks like they tried to glue it back together to hide the fact that it is broken. Called Babies R Us and they said they would have to order a whole new chair in order to get me the replacement piece. Told me it would be ready to pick-up on Thursday. It is now Friday and I still don't have a part to go and pick-up. They can't ship the replacement part to me, which is annoying since I live about an hour from the store so will have to make a special trip just to exchange a part that should have been in one piece to begin with. They have no way of telling me when to expect the part to come in either - I just have to sit and wait for them to call. Normally I am happy with Babies R Us, but right now I am getting a little impatient. A [$] purchase shouldn't be this much of a hassle.

This is Zoe Elizabeth's mommy again. I had forgotten to mention that my daughter is now 8 months old. We had purchased this product when she was barely 2 weeks old, and this glider is still gliding and working beautifully. There are no creaks, cracks or anthing else that could possibly go wrong with it whatsoever. So despite the fact that there are others who have complained about this chair falling apart soon after they had purchased it, I think it might be more of a matter of how one takes care of it and what he or she does to ensure that it lasts. I can assure you all who might have doubts that this is without a doubt a wonderfull, long lasting product should you follow the directions while putting it together and take proper care of it post assembly:)

Okay, so I must admit that this product has recevied more than a few negative comments. However after having done my homework and looking into and comparing several chairs,I gotta say that I am absolutely in LOVE with this breathtakingly beautiful glider. It's soo darn comfortable that even I start to fall asleep in it when nursing my daughter..sleepy or not! It had been fairly simple to put together and I just adore the overall quality. So, thank you Shermag for producing such a wonderful chair. There is no other brand that has you beat;) Would definitely recommend this product to the other mommas who are looking for nursery furniture out there. It truly is worth every penny!

Worked well for a couple of months, then started with a slight creak. It's much worse now and more recently it started popping when rocking. Not worth the price.

If you only buy 1 thing for your new baby, this should be it! In fact, I am writing a blog post :) on the most useful and unusful baby products we've bought and this is hands down #1 fav item.

This exact glider was a baby gift for our now 7 year old son. We have since had 2 more children and this glider has been our savior. Through LONG sleepless night, my husband and I (6'7" & 5'7" respectively) have rocked our babies back to sleep in comfort.

In fact, I slept in this glider throughout my last 2 pregnancies because of the various aches and pains of pregnancy. The ottoman is a must have even though purchased seperately, it made LONG nights much easier on my back.

This specific glider is much larger and more padded than any of the others I've seen making for a more custom and comfortable sitting chair, especially for my 6'7" 240lb husband (who RAVES about this glider to every new mom and dad he encounters).

The only small kink is that there is periodically a "clicking" when you sit a certain way and rock in the chair. Really I've only noticed this as my children get bigger and heavier. Also, I have been to lazy to get down and figure out how to fix it.

Can't believe this glider only has a 3 star average. Take this mom {and dad's} word for it, WORTH THE MONEY! I am never getting rid of this glider even when my kids grow up!
