This has to be the best game out currently on any console. From the moment you begin they throw you right into the action. There isn't a steep learning curve but the little intracacies and combos to learn are there for those that want to be experts. It does have replayability and the story while sometimes a little disjointed overall it is still a great story.
This game is for the action though. It does have gore but it's pretty to look at. The graphics are some of the best I've seen anywhere. Total time if you rush through could be done in 7 hours most likely over ten to beat and even then you'll come back for more. The previous versions part 1 and 2 while great themselves feel only like a tease to what they were going to unveil with god of war 3.
Great game that everyone (except kids) should play.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a fantastic game. The first God of War was a perfect game, the second was fun but frustrated me with all the puzzles. In the third I'm amazed by everything they did with this game. The gameplay is incredibly smooth, the extra weapons were useful and sometimes better to wield than his chains.

They thanked Skywalker Ranch in the ending credits for music composition, the game sounded great in 5.1 dts. The graphics in this game may have set a new standard on consoles. The lighting, character models, level designs (fighting on moving titans!) The developers at Sony Santa Monica once again show that they are indeed one of the most talented development studios in the world.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
