The BSF Baby Austin Convertible Crib 'n Changer Combo offers an attractive style, safety and convenience for your nursery. The two-piece set contains the Austin crib that grows with your child for lasting use. The crib setting features four adjustable support positions to suit your baby's needs, so he or she can get a great night's sleep. The crib converts into a transitional toddler bed, featuring side safety rails for a safe crib-to-bed transition. Next, use it in the daybed position before making the final transition into a full-size bed. The changing table can be attached to the crib for added convenience and detached for use as a nightstand once the crib is converted to a bed.
Features
Crib
The crib setting features four adjustable support positions. Tailor your baby's sleeping environment to suit his or her needs.
Toddler bed and daybed
As your baby gets older, convert the crib into a transitional toddler bed, which features side safety rails to make the crib-to-bed transition safe. When the time is right, remove the safety rails for a functional daybed.
Full-size bed
For lasting use, the bed eventually converts to a full-size bed, which requires only adult bedrails (sold separately). At this point, you will be able to use the changing table as a nightstand.
Changing table
The changing table with a changing pad features two drawers and two open shelves for plenty of storage space. The changing table can be attached to the crib for added convenience and detached for use as a nightstand once the crib is converted to a bed.
Description



BSF Baby Austin Convertible Crib n Changer in Cherry features a stylish wood design. The Austin crib features a 4-position mattress support system to hold a standard crib mattress (not included). The transitional bed is designed for children who have outgrown their crib, but still require the included safety bedrails. The childs day bed is a great transitional stage until use of the full-size headboard is needed. The headboard attaches to a standard frame to create a full size bed. Footboard attaches to bed with adult rails, and the bedrails are sold separately. The Austin includes an attached changing station with an included changing pad. The changing station includes 2 spacious drawers and 2 spacious open shelves. Once the Austin transitions to a full size bed, the changing station detaches to become a night stand.

A Decent Crib at a Decent Price

This crib looks really quite good. Please keep this in mind when reading this review. We have not yet used it as our lil' guy is not yet here. However, I can give you the review on my experience with putting the crib together.First off, yes, the tools are provided but the Philips screwdriver they provide will leave you with a sore wrist in no time at all. So if you have a nice screw-gun that will save you some time for sure. [...] The drawers were easy to put together. The changing table portion was easy enough to put together. The crib portion, again, was easy enough to put together. Attaching the crib and changing table was certainly a tricky part. The two pieces did not want to come together very well. Eventually the gaps closed and the crib and changing table came together. The last piece of the crib is the mattress holder. Now this piece was pretty tough to get locked in. Perhaps this is because you have to use the allen wrench tools, or perhaps there was a good size gap where the mattress holder and crib were supposed to come together. Whatever the case may be, the crib has come together and we are eagerly awaiting our lil' guy to join us in November. One final note about the drawers. They come with a hard plastic drawer-stopper on the bottom of each of them, but this hard plastic makes is pretty tough to pull the drawers out and to put them back in place. So I have opted to unscrew the plastic stoppers and this has made the drawer slide action much easier and smoother. So, if you do happen to get this crib, keep that in mind. Thank you for reading and please note that I don't typically review items, but for the parent-to-be that is looking for a good honest review, this is it.

A good value and a nice unit. I would strongly suggest doing the assembly with two people or you might be using some 4 letter words if trying to put it together by yourself.

The changing table top section was short two under fastening bolts which really hampered things, and it is a real pain to screw those specific bolts in as the space only allows a 1/4 turn per try. I had to use some finish nails to fasten the top on better to make up for the needed bolts they didn't include.

Beware! of the under fastening bolts for the changing table top, they could be too long, thus they will push through the surface of the finished wood, just mind the resistance if it seems to be harder than check your progress to see if there is a dimple coming out on top.

Also the plastic spacer pieces on the sides of the drawers are not necessary whatsoever, they make the drawer harder to slide in and out if left on, so take em off right from the start.

The combo is very long so be sure to do measurements before hand to make sure you have the ideal space.

It's not easy to assemble keep in mind. But the tools provided are the best to use in the process, an automatic screw gun is not applicable, it just can't be used.

Overall I am satisfied with it for the price I paid.

    I bought this crib refurbished 2 years ago. I believe it was a return, but it hadn't been put together and had *almost all the parts. I noticed when I went to change it to a toddler bed that it was missing 2 of the screws needed for the side panels. It wasn't a big deal though, since they are a pretty typical size to buy in a hardware store.

    The only issue I had with this crib is the bottoms of the drawers bent under the weight of clothes and fell through. the brace meant to hold it up broke early on (the pegs keeping it in the drawer snapped off). So the crib itself is good and sturdy, and I think it is an attractive piece for the price, but if the drawers are going to be used a lot keep that in mind.

    The rest of the crib is made of sturdy wood, but the sides of the changing table and bottom of the drawers are thin plywood/ cardboard type material.

    It also doesn't have a bassinette height for the mattress so it might be difficult to use with infants. My baby was 6 months old when we got the crib and it was just fine for her.

    I didn't have an issue building it but I build a lot of furniture.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      For the price, this is a really cute crib. DS loves it and never has issues sleeping or trying to get out. We're lucky, we have a crib-happy baby. He turned two 2 months ago and he's still happy in it. I can't see spending crazy money on a temporary piece of furniture. It looks great in his little mod room too.

      We live in a rowhouse and baby's "room" (at least for now) is one-half of a walk-through bedroom. In other words, space is tight. This fit our needs over a crib and separate changer. It did take some doing to get together; unlike other reviewers we did have all the pieces and they were in good shape, but hubby decided he didn't need the directions the first time around. The result looks nice and feels sturdy, we've been using it for almost a year now. The only thing we changed was we removed the plastic pieces on the underside of the drawers because they did not slide smoothly (and then baby-proofed the drawers so he can't slam his fingers). There are a few drawbacks. The vertical slates are wide and the crib wall on the changer side is solid, making the use of a bumper nearly impossible and the positioning of various crib accessories (mirrors, toys, etc.) more difficult. The crib does sit low at its lowest setting, which I would recommend as soon as your baby learns to pull up so they don't end up on the changer. When the crib is at its lowest it's too low for a skirt. Also keep in mind the the bottom is too low to store even those totes designed to fit under the bed, which was disappointing. The changer is slightly shorter than a standard one so the pad covers we bought were too big and we were stuck with the flimsy pad it came with since replacements didn't fit. Even with these drawbacks, overall we are very pleased and have received compliments. We will end up using this for #2. We got the Sealy soybeam foam mattress to go with it.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

        The crib came really fast and seemed easy to put together, the first little nick was the hardware to put it together was missing. That was an easy solution, i contacted customer service and recieved it in the mail within two days. Then I noticed that the changer sides were missing, which made it impossible to put together. Once again I contacted customer service. That was 3 months ago! To this day I have yet to receive the parts to complete the crib. I called them several times and have been told it would be here in a week. It hasn"t happened yet. I don't even think my son will sleep in a crib, he's been in my bed so long. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT. I can't believe I'm stuck with a [$] crib that I can"t use!

        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

        We read the reviews for this crib, and bought it, due to it being on sale, and its versatility. The "hardware" was a joke! Most of the screws were not useable. We put this crib together TWICE, and the "wooding" doesnt match up correctly. Also, the bolt holes, some were not useable either, so we have to set the mattress down LOW because of it, im 5'3!!!

        This "cherry" wood crib is painted. Removing the stickers showed that. Wooding was scratched in the box- before we removed the pieces, and its just overall NOT a good crib. We are very unhappy. The quality is very poor. It looks nice, but i would not recommend this crib to anyone.

        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

          The crib is for our son, which in my opinion, is rather large for a newborn but will definitely work out well once he is big enough to fit in it. The process of assembling the crib was a hassle. The instructions were clear but nothing was labeled so you had to look at the picture and find the part that resembled it. The end result was a sturdy, well put together crib.

                  Crib was assembled by my fiance and his cousin. Took them about 2 hours to complete. The only default that I have seen so far is that the straps for the changing pad are very small. We bought a changing pad cover and when you put the cover on it kind of defeats the purpose of the strap. So needless to say if you want the strap to use to its full effect you can't have a changing pad cover.

                  Crib wasn't too hard to assemble from what I saw as they were putting it together.
                  Love the color!
