Thanks to my 4 year old nephew, my 2 year old son has been talking non-stop about LEGOs.

Before I threw cash down for a more expensive set, I thought I would try something smaller to see if his attention would hold. He also loves Jessie from Toy Story. Naturally, at only 18 pieces, this was a great "trial" set.

For a parent just foraying into LEGO territory, the large selection (and price tags!) can be a bit overwhelming. If you have a toddler that expresses an interest in LEGOs, the Duplo character sets are a great mid-price option for someone that doesn't want to shell out the money for the more expensive tub, just yet. Also, the larger size is easier for little hands to grab, and holds a lesser chance to be lost.

I'm not really understanding the other review about misleading contents. The box clearly says 18 pieces, there is a actual-size image on the box, an itemized and illustrated list of contents, and a huge picture of the product in its entirety. There's really no true opportunity to be mislead, provided that you actually read what's on the box (or at least look at the picture).

My boys love the Lego Duplo building sets. We have several including almost all of the Toy Story 3 ones. This set is a nice addition to their other sets and figures. My 2 yr old seems to enjoy it even more than my 4 yr old. He loves putting Jessie and the other Toy Story characters on Bullseye while pretending to ride around. The Duplo sets are great for younger children who love to build but are not quite ready for the sets made for older kids since the pieces are larger.

This is a very nice duplo set, and my 2 and a half year old has really enjoyed all of the duplos for quite a while; she loves Jesse from Toy Story, and it is harder to find Jesse products than the other characters, so I was thrilled to find this set. We bought the big green plate, which made all of the difference for her enjoyment of the duplos and building with them. While she's not building the specific sheriff's building yet, she enjoys making walls, stacking them and making patterns. If you have a child who likes to put things together and take them apart, I think this will be enjoyable for them, especially if combined with other sets with more pieces, which we did.

I bought this for my three year old and thought that there would be more pieces to the set for the price. Also the age limit should be more like 3-6 yr old. Not for a 2 yr old. Pieces are still pretty small for a younger child.
